Robin Padilla and his wife Mariel Rodriguez are serious about their "organic" lifestyle, which they religiously promote through social media. "Talagang tatlong taon kaming nagtiis do’n na ipalaganap ang organic living, farming, medicine, food, lahat,” he said.

Robin Padilla and his wife Mariel Rodriguez have been advocating the consumption of organic products for the past three years.

“Kami, 100 percent kami organic sa bahay namin.

"Ultimo deodorant ko, natural, toothpaste ko, shampoo ko, organic ‘yon. Briefs na lang ang hindi,” joked Robin.

The action star was interviewed by the press people who trooped to the Leoni Agri Corp. (LAC) farm in Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija, last February 21, for the announcement of his endorsement, the Ascof Lagundi Cough medicine.

The farm is where the Lagundi plants are grown.

“You are what you eat,” declared Robin before mentioning the way they promote their organic lifestyle.

HOW IT BEGAN. For her part, Mariel related how she developed her interest in anything organic.

“Robin was the one who told me about organic. Basta sabi niya dati, bumili ako ng organic.

"Sabi ko, ‘Okay.’ So pumunta ako ng tindahan bumili ako organic.

“Slowly namin siya ni-take.”

Robin revealed another reason why they decided to go organic

“Ang story niya ganito. Lagi akong nagpapaalam diyan [Mariel].

Yun ang story no’n.”

ORGANIC FARMING. Mariel continued that they started as buyers of products, but later on decided to grow their own produce in their own backyard.

They have pechay, kale, papaya, calamansi, and eggplant in their garden.

They also visit various places here and abroad to learn more about organic farming.

Robin affirmed, “Kasi ang pagiging organic way of life, ang hirap ipaliwanag kung iisa-isahin natin.

NEXT LEVEL. Robin accepted the offer to endorse Ascof Lagundi because it matches their lifestyle.

“Eksakto.

“Kahit medicinal, importante kailangan organic.

Robin also explained that he wants to put his celebrity status to good use.
