Knowing that his place in showbiz isn't permanent, Christian Bautista makes sure he will be poor-proof by the time projects will be scarce.
First, he doesn’t mind being called kuripot.
Thanks to his parents, who taught him a thing or two about managing his finances.
He told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an exclusive interview, “Nung high school hanggang college, siguro my parents taught me how to properly invest for the future.
“Ang turo sa akin, invest, not just save, when it comes to money.
“And, 'You gotta achieve this financial goal so that you'll be able to live comfortably when you retire.'”
Second, “Get a portion of your money na hindi mo gagalawin no matter what.
“There's a portion na pang-emergency mo, merong portion na pang-enjoy mo, dapat meron nito, hindi puwedeng puro na lang work.
"And then, of course, merong portion na for your daily needs.”
We threw in, “What’s your idea of enjoying life?”
He paused before he replying, “Case to case—traveling, eating, alone time, Cavite, being with family, outdoors.”
Third, take good care of your health.
The balladeer added, “Just balance life, huwag din yung masyadong trabaho nang trabaho, iiwan mo na lahat ng pamilya mo, pababayaan mo na ang sarili mo.
“And remember, may time din dapat sa pamilya mo, sa sarili.”
Fourth, be positive.
“Don't worry too much about what's going on or the negative stuff also. Just do your job, move on, and you'll be fine,” he reassured.
Lastly, he said with a smile, “Go to Watsons. You can save on lotsa products there.”
Christian was recently added to the brand’s roster of endorsers for its Switch and Save campaign.
This interview was actually held during his pictorial on March 16.
He continued, “So ngayon, bagay nga dito sa Switch and Save promo kasi you get to save with all these wonderful Watsons brands na mas mura and yet the quality is the same or even better.
“So, sakto talaga siya. Sumakto sa 'kin.”
At present, the 33-year-old star owns townhouses for rent in Imus, Cavite, plus “I have yung insurance, mga mutual funds," he proudly reveals.
