Hayden Kho is indeed in a new phase of his life.
When we saw him during Belo's 25th anniversary event at the Manila Polo Club, he looked happy and relaxed.
We asked him if he was attending in his official capacity as part of the Belo Medical Group.
Flashing his winsome smile, he reiterated, “Right now, unofficial. But you can say I’m part of the family.”
STEM-CELL FELLOWSHIP. At present, Hayden keeps himself busy with a TV show on TV5, a medical show entitled Healing Galing.
He also says studying and reviewing keep him busy.
“I'm studying for my boards in stem cell and anti-aging medicine. That's what’s been keeping me very busy.”
Will he rejoin the Belo Medical Group again once he gets the stem cell fellowship?
He answers, “I'm not yet very sure. I'm taking it one step at a time.
“The moment I get my fellowship, my board certification, gawa tayo ng decision about it.
“Pero most likely ‘yan yun.”
We asked him how many stem cell specialists there are in the country these days.
He replies, “Not very sure, but it's new, especially stem cell.
“Stem cell is very new and we know parang ang daming nag-o-offer ng stem cell kahit ‘di pa masyado perfected or experimental pa lang or baka bogus pa lang.
“And I'm not blaming doctors, ha? Kasi minsan binebenta lang ang produkto.
“Well, it's just me. Gusto ko naiintindihan ko muna yung isang bagay bago ko gagawin.
“Until I'm very, very confident that I know everything about it and that it's safe, saka ko lang gagawin.”
MINISTRY WORK. For now, he says, “Aral muna tayo ngayon. So aside from medicine and that TV show, I'm doing ministry work with people.”
The ministry work he is referring to is for the church he belongs to, the Christ Commission Fellowship (CCF), the largest Christian megachurch in the country.
He is also being mentored by Ravi Zacharias, world-famous author, speaker and Christian apologist, and founder of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries or RZIM.
Hayden, who regularly goes on RZIM-related invitations abroad to speak and share his Christian testimony, describes this time as “a season of revival.”
“Masaya, I enjoy it everyday. Looking forward talaga to what God has in store for me, so I really find it exciting,” he says.
This summer, he sees himself doing “just a lot of studying and a lot of work on spiritual growth I guess, so I guess that's more important, more than anything else, foundations first.”
He credits his faith these days as his secret to staying young, more than workouts or beauty products.
He explains, “It's really by the grace of God, it's really prayer and peace of mind because I noticed noon, I aged a lot nung nangyari yung things before, so you can...
“Obviously, stress is related to aging, so if you can keep your peace of mind all the time, and joy in our heart and that refreshing daily refreshing which only comes from God.”
He says that unlike before, he now has a better grasp of what role showbiz plays in his life.
He muses, “I think I know the role of things in my life which is important. Kunwari, yung role ng showbiz, ano yung role ng showbiz sa life ko?
“Importante is for that not to define who I am, and parang dapat mag-support siya doon sa singular na objective ko in my life.”
