UAAP women's volleyball stars Gretchen Ho, Michelle Gumabao, Rachel Anne Daquis, Dindin Santiag-Manabat, and Amy Ahomiro played for the Nestea Beach Fantasy Volleyball Match last weekend, May 1 and 2, at the Boracay Beach Chalets.
For two days, the athletes treated the beach-goers to an action-packed exhibition match under the searing sun!
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked the players how else do they protect themselves from the harsh rays of the sun, apart from the must-have sunblock.
Here are their top three beach essentials:
Former ADMU Lady Eagle Gretchen Ho: “Sunblock kasi super itim ko na. I’m always out there sa sun because of volleyball.
“Shades, kasi I can’t see without them. Nahihirapan ako maglaro ng volleyball without them.
“Pumapasok yung sand [sa eyes] and yung sun, mahirap tumingin.
“Vitress, kasi dry hair so para laging maganda ang buhok kailangan yun.”
ADMU Lady Eagle Amy Ahomiro: “Sunblock because I don’t want to get my skin to get burned.
“Sunglasses because the sun is so hot, 'di ba? And para I don’t squint.
“And cellphone just so I can check up with everything and take pictures.”
Former FEU Lady Tamaraw Rachel Anne Daquis: “Sunblock to protect my skin.
“Ayun, swimwear kasi mahilig ako mag-swimming.
“And camera, siyempre kailangan natin i-capture yung mga moments.”
UST Tigress Tricia Santos: “Sunscreen because I kinda burn easily, my skin burns easily.
“Fluids like drinks, water to hydrate and sunglasses.”
Former DLSU Lady Archer Michelle Gumabao: “Sunblock kasi I’m aging so I really need to take care of my skin.
“Water to rehydrate and money so I can do a lot of things like buy food.”
Former NU Lady Bulldog Dindin Santiago-Manabat: “Siyempre sunblock, unang-una, kasi nanghihiram lang ako ng puti.
“Pangalawa, sunglasses kasi sobrang araw so kailangan ng sunglasses. Tsaka siyempre kailangan mo ng pamporma.
“And then, swimsuit, bikinis, kailangan mo ng magaganda so siyempre lagi kang tinitignan kaya kailangan yun.”
