Will Marian Rivera leave showbiz after giving birth?

Jun 3, 2015
Marian Rivera reveals how husband Dingdong Dantes has been taking her pregnancy. “Parang siya yung buntis. Sobrang supportive niya. Nakita ko na mas excited siya sa araw-araw.”

Marian Rivera, who is now five-months pregnant, may not be as visible on television as before, but she still has her hands full, and is loving every minute of it.

She was supposed to topbill the ongoing GMA-7 primetime teleserye The Rich Man’s Daughter, but had to back out the last minute because of her pregnancy.

The role went to Rhian Ramos.

These days, Marian is focused on doing her wife duties and monitoring her baby. Add to these are her numerous endorsements.

“Sabi ko nga, napakabait ng Diyos sa akin. Wala akong soap pero ang dami ko pa ring activities na ginagawa. Halos everyday pa rin,” she said in an interview with PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other members of the press at the renewal of her contract for Maxi-Peel last May 26, Tuesday.

Asked if she misses TV, the Kapuso Primetime Queen replied, “Actually, magandang break din ito para sa akin dahil palagi naman akong nagtatrabaho."

According to the actress, her OB-gynecologist told Marian that she is perfectly fit so she can remain active.

“Gusto ko normal kaya nagpapaka-healthy ako.

“At the same time, yung sinasabi ng OB ko na kailangan na mag-swimming ako, mag-Pilates ako or water aerobics or treadmill ako kasi walang bawal sa akin.

“Lahat, okay kong gawin.

“Sinasabi niya very fit and normal ang pagbubuntis ko na ipinagpapasalamat namin.

“Healthy ako kumain. Disiplinado talaga ako. Lahat ng bawal, hindi ko kinakain.”

But the first-time mom, who is due this November, admitted to having jitters about giving birth.

“Excited, [and] at the same time, hindi ko naman alam kung paano manganak, pero nanonood ako kung paano manganak.

“Sana pala hindi na lang ako nanonood kasi nakakatakot siya.

“Pero sabi ko nga, okay lang ‘yan, malakas naman ang loob ko at kaya ko namang tiisin ang lahat, kaya gusto ko talaga normal.”

PEP asked Marian: will she permanently leave showbiz behind after giving birth?

“Mahirap pangunahan,” she answered.

“Pero sabi ko nga, kung ano man ang nangyari sa buhay ko na nag-artista ako for 10 years, tapos ang pinakamahaba kong relasyon si Dong, naging asawa ko siya, tapos ngayon buntis ako, so sabi ko nga, kung ang kapalaran mo nasa showbiz, kahit anong mangyari, ‘yan ang kapalaran mo.”

SUPPORTIVE HUSBAND. As for Dingdong, Marian beamed she couldn’t ask for a more supportive husband.

“Every time na nagvi-visit ako sa OB, parating andun siya, hindi pwedeng wala,” Marian said about her husband.

“Nakikita ko siya super video siya, picture siya sa amin, so nakakatuwa.

“Parang siya yung buntis. Sobrang supportive niya.

“Nakita ko na mas excited siya sa araw-araw.”

This week, Marian revealed that they will be visiting her doctor again, and, hopefully, will finally find out the gender of their baby.

But for the Kapuso star, the gender of their baby, whether a girl or a boy, is not really important.

“Kahit ano. Ako, wala akong pinipili, basta healthy at normal."

She added mischievously, “'Tsaka marami pa naman siyang kasunod. Kung babae siya ngayon, lalaki [naman] sa susunod, puwede naman.”

Wait, how many kids does she want to have?

“Hanggang kaya ko. Mas marami, mas masaya. Kasi solong anak lang ako, kaya gusto ko mas marami, mas masaya.”
