What Piolo Pascual, Gerald Anderson, Xian Lim, Zanjoe Marudo, and other Star Magic actors do to deserve the tag "hunks"

Jun 11, 2015
To maintain your physique, Piolo Pascual suggests less heavyweights, "‘cause once you stop training, you kinda get bigger." Gerald Anderson, on the other hand, says the key is strict time management, “Kailangan alagaan mo yung oras mo para kelan ka makakasingit ng workout or exercise.”

They're fit, agile, and heartthrobs.

Ever wonder how hard or easy it is to maintain a body like Piolo Pascual's or Gerald Anderson's?

How come despite their busy schedule, Xian Lim, Zanjoe Marudo, and Joseph Marco have abs?

And what does Dominique Roque and Miko Raval to tone those muscles?

Here are some tips from the Star Magic hunks!

Piolo Pascual shared that he does more body weights than heavy weights because, “You don’t wanna get big, ‘cause once you stop training, you kinda get bigger.”

He explained, “It’s hard to support yung gano'ng lifestyle, so I guess, the best way to build a nice body is just don’t lift heavy and make sure you do a lot of cardio.”

His cardio routine includes running and biking with Penny.

Penny, who? That's the name of his bike.

Gerald Anderson, on the other hand, has four things on his fitness list.

First, eat healthy and never overeat. Second is to exercise regularly. Third is to have enough sleep.

And fourth, “Always be conscious sa mga schedule mo para lagi ka makakasingit ng workout.

“Kailangan alagaan mo yung oras mo para kelan ka makakasingit ng workout or exercise.”

True enough, despite his busy taping schedule for the teleserye Nathaniel, he makes time for basketball and biking.

Just a month ago, Gerald also participated in his first triathlon!

Newcomer Miko Raval said that he works out three times a week, and also follows a diet religiously.

His mantra: “Sleep early, eat right, exercise regularly, find a hobby, a sport that will make you fit.”

The result will make you want to follow his mantra. (it might make the girls want to follow him on Instagram, too!)

Pangako Sa’Yo star Dominic Roque also has a simple advice for those who want to achieve a more muscular body—eat healthy, have a good sleep, and work out.

Dominic is also into super bike racing.

Recently, he joined a sports competition called 360 QC.

Those biceps! Woot! Woot!

Xian Lim believes in exercising and dieting, but he also eats a lot “so your metabolism is up.”

His best advice: “enjoy what you’re doing.”

He stressed, “Hindi siya dapat hassle, dapat you’re enjoying the workout.

“They say 'no pain, no gain,' but you have to enjoy it, so you can be constant.”

And right now, he enjoys boxing!

Zanjoe Marudo, who was last seen in Dream Dad, exercises regularly, lifts weights, and plays basketball.

He also loves playing golf, but it does not make you lose weight.

Pasion De Amor star Ejay Falcon says he pigs out at times, but he regularly works out in the gym and plays basketball.

He said, “Dapat hindi nawawala 'yan kahit once or twice a week lang.

“Basta kahit may trabaho ka, kailangan mo siyang isingit, kasi hindi lang para gumanda katawan mo, para maging healthy ka rin.”

Recently, Ejay was featured in a sports show where he showed off his new sport: boxing.

He also does regular gym workouts, sometimes with showbiz friends, to maintain his abs and sexy body.

His advice: “Para gumanda kasi talaga katawan mo, dapat nasa heart mo 'yan, e. You should be obsessed with it.

“Parang dapat palagi mo siyang iniisip para ma-achieve mo siya.

"Kung magiging 50-50 ka lang, it’s gonna be hard, so hard work talaga, it’s the key.”
