Solenn Heussaff prefers keeping her wedding preparations under wraps.
Hence, when the press asked her recently for any update, she graciously answered, "For me, everyone knows I'm engaged naman. Yun lang, it's a private matter."
MAKE-UP ARTIST. Solenn, aside from being a published author, is also a professional make-up artist.
She actually does her own make-up.
''I've learned a lot from seeing how other make-up artists do me, yung mga ibang styles."
Being a make-up artist had gotten her foot in the showbiz door but she admitted she hasn't done it professionally for quite some time.
"It's really different 'pag nagpa-practice ka sa ibang tao.
''Baka if I enter the industry again, I'll have to practice again kasi I have to do different faces.
“Dati super galing ako, now I haven't tried it in a while, only pag may mga kasal ng friends ko, I do the make-up."
The last major wedding she did was for the wedding of friend Heart Evangelista.
Solenn said she can even do professional prosthetics.
"'Pag may shoot na interesting and gusto kong gawin, gagawin ko," she remarked.
MANY HATS. Solenn is also a TV host on a magazine lifestyle show airing on GMA News TV called Taste Buddies.
Here, she tries a different thing every week—from new food to new adventures, new activities or new sports, anything that requires a taste for something new—alongside co-host Iya Villania.
So which hat does she prefer wearing more, considering her versatility as TV host, author, make-up artist, model, endorser, actress, designer, painter, and singer?
"Being an artist, the thing about being an artist, kasi Cancer din ako—born in July—usually medyo scattered yung brain nila.
“So yun, I just love to try different things, 'di naman sa magiging bored na ako kaagad, lagi lang may thirst at may hunger ako to try something new.
"I think it's a good thing for now, eventually, I'll have to settle."
She then joked, "Kahit sa mga boys, tikman-tikman 'tapos settle!"
MOVIE STAR. Solenn is also shooting a movie this summer with fellow GMA stars Rocco Nacino and Dennis Trillo.
On these two movie projects, Solenn commented, "Maganda yung mga roles. I like it.
"Ngayon, I'm more on the indie movies kasi iba yung mga stories nila.
“Parang mas may soul minsan and you get to work with different people, not lang from, not always from your surroundings or your barkada, so yun, I'm excited."
She doesn't discount that commercial movies have made her name popular, but she is right now enjoying the novelty of the indie scene.
Does she prefer teleserye drama or comedy?
Solenn quickly replied, "Mas gusto ko comedy kasi nahihirapan talaga ako umiyak and 'pag may scene na kailangan umiyak, nape-pressure talaga ako.
"Ayaw ko maging cause of delay or baka sabihin nila 'di naman magaling umarte si Solenn.
“So I like to stick to what's safe pero siyempre naman, when I'm confident with the director and when I really feel yung story, puwede naman ako mag-drama."
IMPRESSED WITH DENNIS. This is her third time to be working with Dennis. How is it this time around?
Solenn said, "Dennis is super chill. I worked with him in Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow and Boy Pick Up.
"He's really in his element. He's not an artista for me kasi super parang tao lang siya.
“He doesn't really like to chitchat but when it comes to the take, as in bigay na bigay lahat and you feel like parang wow, you're really in the scene with him."
Solenn, who is a time Nazi, also appreciates Dennis's punctuality.
She added, "He's very professional, always on time, very respectful to everyone. I really like working with him, very good."
Working with Dennis, Solenn said, pushes her out of her comfort zone and towards more excellence.
"Siyempre naman, kasi sobrang galing si Dennis so I'm pressured to be as good as him or at least try to be as good as him and I get to learn from himself also!" she admitted.
