If the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, then Marian Rivera has the upper hand in making husband Dingdong Dantes stay madly in love with her.
“Mahilig kasi akong magluto ng mga Pilipinong pagkain, talagang ‘yan ang masasabi ko na hilig ko talaga,” explained the Kapuso Primetime Queen in her TV guesting on GMA News TV’s Tonight With Arnold Clavio last June 17.
Just how vast is her knowledge when it comes to recipes?
“Minsan nga may niluluto ako, hindi alam ni Dong, e. Sinasabi ko, ‘Pang-Cavite ‘yan.’
"May mga niluluto ako na hindi niya alam,” added Marian, who is a proud Caviteña.
Last February, Marian enrolled at the culinary school of celebrity chef Heny Sison.
The Kapuso actress said that she is not yet ready to share her recipes—some of them were taught by her grandmother.
“Madamot ako, e. Pino-post ko lang,” she smiled.
Marian also maintains an Instagram account where she posts her dishes, @lutoniyan, which currently has more than 27,000 followers.
“Pero iniisip ko baka magkaroon ako ng… baka sipagin ako na mag-website na nagluluto talaga ako na aktwal na nakikita,” she beamed.

Celebrities who venture into food business, such as restaurants or baked delicacies, isn’t something new.
Just recently, a number of them showed up at the Open Kitchen (The Best Kept Recipes of the Stars), a three-day celebrity food market event, where there had been free-tasting and selling of their specialty dishes.
Liza Diño, partner of Aiza Seguerra, has already launched her Adobo in a Jar business, while Pokwang had a limited offer of her Mamang Pokie’s Laing.
Is Marian gonna be jumping on the bandwagon as well?
“Mahirap magsalita, pero sa ngayon, siguro magluluto ako 'tapos ibibigay ko sa mga taong gustong tumikim no’n.”
The 30-year-old actress articulated that her lola had bequeathed to her a secret recipe dish, and only to her.
“Kasi ang menudo ng lola ko, ni isa sa mga anak niya, wala siyang itinuro kung ano ang sikerto, sa akin lang niya itinuro.”
With regard to the dishes that her husband raves about, Marian uttered, “Walang kamatayang sinigang sa sampalok, sinigang na hipon 'tapos magre-request ‘yan Caldereta or magre-request ‘yan ng Menudo.”

She even quipped, “Imbes na ako ang naglilihi siya ang naglilihi ata, siya ang kain nang kain.”
