Callalily’s frontman Kean Cipriano, along with other local influencers of the Converse, met up with top personalities across Asia for the launch of the much-awaited redesign of brand's signature Chuck Taylor sneakers last July 29, in Shanghai, China.
The musician/actor recounted his experience to select members of the press in an intimate lunch held on August 15.
Kean said, “It was a fun experience kasi pagdating namin dun sa lugar, art place talaga.
“Kumbaga parang, ‘Whoa nagulat kami.’ Hindi namin inexpect na ganito yung event.”
Kean was proud to have represented the country with other local brand ambassadors—Kapuso singer/actress Julie Anne San Jose, model/host Georgina Wilson, and travel/lifestyle blogger David Guison.
All four of them were able to get their hands on the Chuck II sneakers, and enjoyed the Art Mob room where they sprayed paint on the wall featuring the art work of a Dutch artist named Parra.
He said, “Ang galing lang kasi mararamdaman mo na, ‘O men, we’re the global ambassadors.’
“Kasi yun nga, makikita mo every country may nirerepresent, e.
“Like sa Asia lalo na, kumbaga makikita mo yung mga tao parang, ‘Ang galing o, itong grupong ito iba yung itsura nila, itong grupo na ‘to iba yung vibe nila…’
“Kami, I’m sure iba rin yung sa amin kasi representatives nga ng bawat bansa.”
We asked him his dos and don’ts for sneaker fans like him.

Kean explained, “Ako, naniniwala ako, kung ano yung sapatos mo, kung ano yung dumi niyan, kung ano nandiyan, yun yung pinagdaanan niya.
“Pinagdaanan niya talaga yun literal as in experience niya yun.”
In the end, Kean said he believes there are actually no rules when wearing your favorite and comfortable sneakers.
“Yung dos and don’ts, walang dos and don’ts. Ano lang, just wear them and kick ass with your sneakers.”
