Karen Reyes tells the story behind her tattoo, "Destroy what destroys you, kasi ayaw ko nang ma-destroy ako nang dahil sa love, nang dahil sa mga problem, ayoko na.”

On Karen Reyes's back, right in the middle of her spine, was a tattoo that read: "Destroy what destroys you."

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) noticed it during the recent guesting of Star Magic Angels, where she's a member, on PEPtalk.

The Kapamilya newbie said it was brought about by a tumultuous phase in her life.

“Because I was depressed for like three months, 'tapos yung sa depression na yun, hindi ko alam yung gagawin ko.

The young lady whose roots are in Calapan, Oriental Mindoro admitted to feeling alone and lonely before.

“Yun, so di ba at a very, very young age. Nagkakaganun na ako.”

"DESTROY WHAT DESTROYS YOU." Karen revealed that the line is like her mantra.

To her, having a tattoo was an outlet, a form of self-expression.

“Though I know na hindi talaga maganda yung message niya. Pero kasi, pinapatapang ako, e. Ganun.

"So pinapatapang niya ako na parang, ‘I can do it!

“Sabi nga nila, ‘Karen the destroyer.’"

Lastly, Karen underlined that getting inked is an art, and that she shouldn't be judged simply because she has a tattoo.
