Newly-crowned Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach has gone through a lot of changes since she became a beauty title holder in 2013.
Fashion has a lot to do with her transformation.
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) had the chance to interview Pia weeks before she flew to Las Vegas, Nevada for the pageant.
She said, “I think I’m a little bit conscious but only, you know, just to bring out the best in me.
“You now have to look good for the occasion.
“You have to keep in mind you that you can’t be too daring, but you can’t be too conservative din naman.
“And then you choose the right balance for the right occasion.
“Also taking considerations on your assets and what looks good on you, ganyan.”
As for her preferred style and designs, the Filipina-German beauty lauded the “creation of Filipino fashion designers.”
Hence, when her original royal-blue evening gown for the preliminary competition wouldn't fit her, she turned to Oliver Tolentino, a Los Angeles-based Pinoy couturier.
For national costume, she donned Albert Andrada’s ivory-colored serpentina terno with capiz embellishments.
On Instagram, Pia beamed, "My national dress by @albertandrada (center). Tangkilikin ang sariling atin #MissUniverse #MissUniverse #ConfidentlyBeautiful"

Meanwhile, when it comes to her personal style, Pia said it's constantly changing.
Miss Universe 2015 elaborated, “I think fashion is a learning process.
“I have to be [fashionista], but it’s funny because I think I have a long way to go.
“You evolve as you get older.
“It’s ever evolving so maybe I found it, but then it just keeps changing over time.
“Actually I have an eye rin naman, so I think I am pretty good at it with regards to my own body,” she said.
