KC Concepcion's online closet has just been upgraded to give her fans better access.
By clicking kcscloset.com, fans and fashionistas can now check out her bags, shoes, dresses, and accessories, make online purchases, and help feed school children in Mindanao.
“Napakalaking jump niya from my work as an actress kasi it's a social enterprise, na hindi ko alam na social enterprise ang ginagawa ko.
“We started thinking about how to put pre-loved luxury goods online to be available to people na gustong mag-shopping ng mga second-hand na branded items,” said KC in an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other reporters.
Items are priced from Ph3,000 to more than Ph90,000, which has a corresponding number of school meals for children.
KC continued, “Yes, may kamahalan but if you get it at KC's Closet, it's not only less expensive because it's pre-loved or nagamit ko na, ginamit ko rin siya.
“So it's something na nakikita na ng mga taong nagagamit ko.
“Lahat 'yan may sentimental value sa akin so I really make sure na maganda rin ang pagpe-present sa kanila.
“May value rin ang ganyan, ang paglagay sa online shop.”
She added, “Hindi siya one-time big-time. It's a real online shop.
“Ang difference lang is, of course, you can only get one item, one size per piece kasi galing siya from my closet. Wala naman akong clothing line, shop or anything.
“It's mostly from my closet to yours.”
SHOP FOR A CAUSE. Avid followers of KC know that this is not the first time she put up this kind of charity project.
The ambassador of United Nations World Food Programme used to have an account on E-Bay to auction off some of her pre-loved item.
“It's always been about school meal days,” KC said.
“We're serving about 60,000 school children in Mindanao.
“They will provide hot nutritious meals every day sa school para magpunta sila sa school at manatili sa school.
“It's our way of using food as an incentive.”
The daughter of Megastar Sharon Cuneta also noted, “I've been championing this cause for several years now.
“It's fashion for a cause, it's shopping for a cause.
“It's really about the children. I've always had a soft spot for school children. It doesn't take much.”
She even stressed, “Purchasing one gown na sinuot ko sa hosting, they can feed thousands of children already.”
KC said her online shop will also be opened to celebrities who want to help her cause by selling their pre-loved items.
In the end, the Kapamilya actress said no matter how busy she is in showbiz, her passion about helping the less fortunate children won't be set aside.
“Ang puso ko rin ay nandito sa mga passion project ko kasi there's a big part of me... I started online before I came home.
“There's a big part of me that misses that world.
“I just really wanna express myself differently than the confines of ABS-CBN, my home network.”
