Four beach essentials of Rachel Anne Daquis, Cha Cruz, other volleyball stars

Rachel Anne Daquis and Cha Cruz are among the volleyball stars who were tapped to play in this year's Nestea Beach Fantasy Volley Ball Match in Boracay.

It may be hot, but a lot of people still consider summer as the best season to hit the beach.

To fully enjoy the sun, waves, and the sea breeze, volleyball stars Rachel Anne Daquis, Michelle Gumabao, Cha Cruz, Sheila Pineda, Abigail Marano, Ella De Jesus, Melissa Gohing, and Jovelyn Gonzaga make sure to pack their beach essentials.

At the NESTEA Love the Beach welcome party on April 28, held at The Lind Boracay, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked these volleybelles the things they can’t live without when they're on the beach.

1. CAMERA

This is the number one item for Rachel Anne, who told PEP, “Hindi puwedeng mawala iyan kasi kahit saan punta ko na beach, laging may camera.

“Para naman di ba may natatabi akong memories ko sa lugar na pinupuntahan ko.

“Para mayroon akong nakikita at naki-keep.”

2. SUNGLASSES

Aside from protecting her eyes from the harmful sunlight, Abigail has other use for it.

“Hindi talaga puwedeng mawala kasi malaki yung factor lalo na kapag naglalaro ka ng beach volleyball.

“Ang pinka-effect nun, hindi masakit sa mata kapag naglalaro and saka there are times na talagang tirik yung araw, ang hirap makakita ng bola.

“Minsan nga nanghuhula na lang ako kung tatamaan ko pa ba yung bola or hindi.

“Siguro kung walang shades, ang hirap talaga maglaro.”

3. COMFY SUMMER OUTFITS: For Cha Cruz, OOTD (outfit of the day) matters and must be planned.

The volleyball star wears fashionable yet comfortable clothes.

Carry on. Thank you @weare6degrees for my ??? and Tita @susanbehag for my ??????

She said, “Shorts, sun dresses, and any top na casual na pang-summer mga dinadala ko.

“I always go for comfort.

“After that, I mix and match ganyan.

“As long as naman you can pull it off, you can wear anything.”

THIRST-QUENCHER: As an athlete, this a must-have for Jovelyn to stay hydrated.

Apart from drinking water, she finds Nestea’s newest variant, Kiwi Lemon Blend, so refreshing!

It’s made from real tea leaves. It is light, and has only 19 calories.

According to Leanne Jacinto, assistant vice president for consumer marketing, the new flavor typifies the brand's mission, which is "to be at the forefront of always providing innovative, healthy, and refreshing beverage."

If you are going to Boracay this weekend, you can have a free taste of the Kiwi Lemon until May 1.

The brand has been actively enjoining people to "love the beach" for 19 years.
