The most recent social-media discovery is a teenage Badjao girl named Rita Gabriola.
The 13-year-old morena beauty was 'discovered' by Topher Quinto, who took Rita’s photos at the Pahiyas Festival in Lucban, Quezon.
Meanwhile, Jeyrick Sigmaton, aka Carrot Man, recently resurfaced because of his Carrot Man collection for a retail brand.
The Netizens were quick to pair him up with Rita, saying they're "bagay na bagay" even if the guy is eight years her senior.
And since there's a clamor, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) lists down three reasons why the #CaJao love team is quite a good idea.
1. They both shot to fame after their photos went viral online.
2. They both belong to an indigenous group.
Jeyrick is from Kadaclan, Mountain Province, and is part of the Igorot tribe, an Austronesian ethnic group in the country inhabiting the mountains of Luzon.
Rita is a Badjao, who are sea gypsies in Southern Philippines.
3. Rita and Jeyrick are both hoping their newfound fame will help them reach their goal: to finish studies.
Jeyrick said in his previous interview with GMA News, “Kung may perang magagamit, gusto ko sanang… makatapos man lang ng pag-aaral.
Rita, for her part, said that she dreams of becoming a teacher.
But seriously speaking, we hope wonderful opportunities will come their way, and may their dreams come true.
