Just like her mother Angel Aquino, actress-producer Iana Bernardez has glowing morena skin.
Their secret?
“We take care of our skin,” said Iana at the launch of QCinema 2019 on Sptember 24.
“We make sure it doesn’t look dry, and it’s always healthy. So lotion talaga ang tinuro niya. Actually, body oil.”
The 26-year-old lead star of the movie Gusto Kita with All My Hypothalamus (2018) recalled growing up seeing her Mommy Angel, now 46, follow a beauty routine.
“Noon, pinapanood ko siya sa dresser namin, automatic, she always puts body oil and lotion or body oil lang,” she said. “And exfoliating with coffee scrub or loofah, and moisturizing the whole body.”
Iana has picked up the habit, and found the perfect beauty product in Neutrogena body oil.
She added learning from her mother to always drink lots of water and never forget to use toner on her face.
ANGEL AQUINO AND IANA'S DIET
Iana is also blessed with a slender body like Angel, who was a commercial and fashion model before making her big-screen debut via the film Mumbaki (1996).
Both ladies are not calorie conscious, and they are not also picky eaters.
In fact, the they love bonding over meals.
One of Angel's posts on Instagram revealed that they share "leftovers for lunch because we’re the only ones in this home who actually enjoy eating old food..."
They also enjoy all-day breakfast...
...as well as "healthy and hearty meals."
But Iana has started watching her protein intake.
“Now, I don’t eat na rin a lot of meat," she said.
Nonetheless, she was taught by her mom not to deprive herself.
“You don’t have to eat three times a day, when you’re hungry lang."
She added, "Ang natutunan ko din sa kanya, drinking hot water. Less ice, not-so cold beverages.”
What does she usually say when people find out who her mother is?
Iana said she would usually get comments, such as, “Ang galing-galing ng nanay mo” and “Kamukha mo ang nanay mo, pero mas lamang siya sa height.”
She would then reply, “Oo nga po, suwerte siya do’n.’”
