Becoming a beauty queen is currently the farthest thing from Cassy Legaspi's mind.
In her interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) last August, she said "hindi pa ako confident" as far as beauty pageants are concerned.
The 20-year-old star did not totally dismiss the idea especially since it was the dream of her lolo, the late actor Lito Legaspi, for her.
In the same interview, she joked, "Baka next year? Wow! We'll never know."
But as it turned out, the daughter of Carmina Villarroel and Zoren Legaspi became "Miss Universe" much earlier.
On October 31, 2021, in time for the Halloween, Cassy dressed up as Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, with the help of stylist Cath Sobrevega, hairstylist MJ Rone, and make-up artist Mark Bentalanay.
Just like Catriona, she also wore a Lava-inspired gown and a Stars and a Sun ear cuffs.
Jt Fernandez captured Cassy's Miss Universe moment.
In her caption, Cassy quoted Catriona: "To everyone with a dream, know that your dreams are valid. And on your path, you are never denied and only redirected."
In less than 24 hours, Catriona saw Cassy's photos, and gave her stamp of approval.
