R&B-Pop singer Kiana Valenciano hides an insecurity behind her stunning beauty.
"Oh yeah, I have a lot of insecurities," Kiana told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an exclusive interview back in February, shortly after being named as the new face of Converse PH alongside alternative hiphop artist Al James.

The daughter of Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano revealed more, "I think one of them, I actually have like growing vitiligo around my lips that I cover up with makeup.
"That’s something that I don’t like. I’m not very happy about it. It's frustrating that I have a lot of discoloration on my skin."
Vitiligo is a chronic (long-lasting) autoimmune disorder that occurs when melanocytes—skin cells that make pigment—are attacked and destroyed.
Patches of skin begin to turn milky white and lose color as a result.
Kiana said she loved the outdoor, and staying under the sun without sunscreen or skin protection when she was younger led to the "tiny flaws" on her face.

Kiana continued, sharing how she's been dealing with her skin condition.
Pointing at the sides of her lips, she said, "I’m learning to embrace it especially when I’m abroad, I don’t tap a lot of makeup on it.
"It's just in Manila, the culture is different, right? They’re always just like, ‘What’s that?’
"But yeah, that’s one of my insecurities."
What made made her feel even worse was when people noticed and asked, tactlessly, about the small patches on her face.
She said, "I just have to explain. I have to just really explain to them like the reason behind, really the scientific explanation behind each."

Kiana said she's been dealing with her insecurities in the best she could.
She shared, "We just really need to monitor ourselves and cut out negative thoughts that could discourage us and how we perform."
SKIN CARE AND MAKE-UP
For her skin care and make-up essentials, Kiana named the few products she's been using, starting with her go-to moisturizer from local brand Sunnies Face.
She gave the product a good recommendation, "I really like the Sunnies Face dream cream moisturizer. Like, not an ad, [but] I really love it."

The 30-year-old artist also has been complementing her moisturizer with hydrating products, such as the Ordinary Multi-Peptide + HA (formerly known as "Buffet" serum), hyaluronic acid, and Vitamin C serum.
Kiana singled out ANESSA Perfect UV Sunscreen Skincare Milk for skin protection, "It is so perfect for humid weather conditions, and it's not sticky at all."
For concealer, she recommended KKW Beauty Creme highlighter to even out skin discoloration.
