At a young age, as Kaila ventured into the world of modeling and content creation, she quickly recognized the financial strain of constantly hiring beauty professionals.

With a pragmatic approach, she decided to embark on a self-taught make-up journey to cut costs and maintain control over her look.
"When I started modeling when I was 17, and kind of modeling and doing content creation, I decided to teach myself how to do my own makeup," she shared.
Explaining her choice, she said, "Well, one, it's expensive to get glammed all the time, you know, to hire a makeup artist, a hairstylist.
"So I would pretty much just go to events and do my own makeup for certain events because it was more practical for me."
She added, "Eventually, even if I could, I would rather do it myself because I know my face the best and I enjoy it.
"I really enjoy it, and I could save up a lot more, and I'm in control of my own time, you know."
Reflecting on her usual routine, Kaila revealed, "Normally, on a normal day, when I do my regular look, it takes me about 30 minutes maximum to do my own makeup."
She also attributes her proficiency to seeking inspiration from make-up tutorials on platforms like TikTok, demonstrating her commitment to staying updated with the latest trends and techniques.

OVERCOMING INSECURITIES
Despite her success and confidence, Kaila admitted that she too has dealt with physical insecurities in the past.
For one, Kaila talked about the trouble with having her skin type: "I have very, very oily skin and sometimes it's difficult.
"Obviously, people, they always say it's good. Make-up artists say it's good because you won't age as fast.
"But when you have make-up on, it's such a hassle because I have to keep retouching it.
"I have to keep oil-blotting my face."

Meanwhile, her forehead has also been something that used to bother her, reflecting on her initial recourse of getting bangs to conceal it.
"I have a pretty high forehead, and it's not nice to certain people to look at," she recalled.
"So I'm also a bit conscious, so I always get bangs."
However, she shared her evolving journey towards self-acceptance, embracing her unique features, and realizing that imperfections are a normal part of the human experience.
"I'm slowly embracing it. And it's part of me, so I love it now," she declared.
"I feel like it's normal to have insecurities, to not like something about ourselves.
But it's best to focus on things that you do love about yourself."
