Stephanie Zubiri on the importance of genuine self-love: "I just turned 40.... I think more than anything, it's really learning to love myself in all my stages. So sometimes, you're tired, sometimes you're manas, sometimes you look good and you feel good. And really being able to hold space for my body, hold space for the times where I don't feel my best self. So I think it's real love for self."

After turning 40, TV host and author Stephanie Zubiri has come to understand that embracing beauty is vital, even on days when she doesn't feel at her best.

She conveyed this thoughtful perspective on beauty in an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) on November 21, 2024.

The discussion took place at Opulence Design + Concept's store in The Podium Mall, Mandaluyong City, during the unveiling of it latest collections, Polspotten and Jonathan Aldern.

"I just turned 40.... I think more than anything, it's really learning to love myself in all my stages," Stephanie began.

"So sometimes you're tired, sometimes you're manas, sometimes you look good and you feel good.

"And really being able to hold space for my body, hold space for the times where I don't feel my best self. So I think it's real love for self."

This realization came to her after navigating through different phases of anxiety and depression, which also highlighted the importance of genuine self-love and self-care.

"I battled with depression, postpartum depression, anxiety. Even had, you know, really difficult cases where talaga yung dark days.

"And one of the things I realized is as someone who is a giver and tends to give more things, we cannot give if we don't fill our own cup. So how can we give if we're empty?

"So if you really love the people around you, your community, your family, your children, your partner, your parents, your friends, and you want to be there for them, you have to be there for yourself first."

When PEP asked about her self-love routines, she shared her gratitude for regular visits to Belo Beauty Clinic.

Her top choice? Liftera, a non-invasive lifting and contouring treatment designed for the face, neck, and body, utilizing Thermal Diffusion Treatment (TDT) Technology.

Stephanie said, "I have to say thank you to Belo Beauty. I just did Liftera with them. It is a new procedure. Non-invasive. It is so good."

If you're curious about the cost, the treatment for the face is priced at PHP70,000, while the treatment for both face and neck begins at PHP85,000.

At home, Stephanie is a firm believer in the wonders of face oils and Gua Sha, a beauty tool that helps to depuff the face.

She shared, "I really love face oils. And I have been loving the L'Occitane Face Oil.
It's like a yellow bottle. And it's the Immortelle Reset Face Oil.

"It is so good in evening the skin tone. And I use it with a Gua Sha. I love Gua Sha because it's like nakaka-depuff and debloat. That is my favorite skin care hack halo na with some ice and then, Gua Sha with a face oil.

"So I find that L'Occitane is like rather good price points in terms of international skin-care brands as well. And a little bit lang goes a long way. So parang one bottle can last a long time."

Stephanie added, "And it really absorbs kaagad. And it's perfect for the Gua Sha.
Parang nagiging base na siya ng make-up mo."

More importantly, Stephanie firmly believes that the secret to staying youthful begins from within, a lesson she learned from her grandmother.

She said, "My Lola was a dermatologist. So I always sleep with clean skin. And number one is it really starts from inside out.

"So eat your fruits and your vegetables. Ayan talaga yung magpapaganda ng skin. Iyan talaga."
