In October 2025, content creator and beauty entrepreneur Nina Ellaine Dizon will mark a major milestone—the 10th anniversary of her brand, Colourette Cosmetics.

Throughout the past decade, Nina has been grateful for how her journey has, as she put it, "broadened my perspective of beauty."

Nina was interviewed by PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at the launch of her brand's latest product, the Jelly Kiss glossy lip tint collection.

The event took place on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Auro Cafe in Bonifacio Global City.

Nina said, "And now kasi, beauty, parang free-flowing siya, like, whatever I think is beautiful is beauty. Alam mo yun?"

Social media has not only helped redefine beauty standards, but, with the rise of online shopping, has also propelled the growth of local brands.

According to Nina, "I would say na parang I also wanna give credit to other local brands in the market right now because it's not easy running a business especially in the Philippines.

"And being a local brand, with all of these very aggressive competitors coming from other countries, pero tinatayo namin yung bandera ng local brands.

"Actually, friends-friends naman kami niyan and naha-happy lang ako na parang, 'Oh okay, now the market is thriving... Now it's the time for Filipino beauty!'

"And we're just really making the most of it. And we wanna thank the consumers because you guys are supporting us all the way."

LEARNING THROUGH THE PROCESS

Within these ten years of growing her business, Nina has also embraced the role of a content creator.

She expounded, "I just really enjoy the best of both worlds kasi, this privilege of being in the position where I'm at, It's not really granted or not everyone has the access to or the opportunity to be a content creator and a CEO at the same time.

"It's hard, it's really really hard kasi parang sometimes I need to wear my CEO hat.

"But then again, I'm a public figure, so, you have to find the balance and you have to pick your poison talaga."

How does she do it? Effective scheduling.

"As a public figure, I get to engage with our audience, I get to really interact with our consumers.

"What I do to create content, as in I block my calendar like, today, Tuesday, 'Content day, guys, sorry!' I'm gonna churn out 30 videos."

She added, "Pero it's hard kasi it doesn't stop. Kasi pag-uwi ko, I'm gonna check comments.

"Ako yung nagra-reply, e, sa TikTok. Ako pa rin yun, ako lahat nakakabasa ng mga iyan.

"That's why I know how to create my content also 'cause I'm really receptive to my audience."

Speaking of comments, how does she handle them?

Nina answered, "For me kasi, everything can be constructive, you know.

"If you look at something kasi and you think it's destructive then it will be destructive.

"You have to be self-aware also na, 'Okay guys, we can grow pa here.'

"I'm not perfect. There have been mistakes made in the past and we grew from there, di ba?

"What's important is, they don't remain as mistakes. They should be lessons as well.

"That's how I look at it and for Colourette, we've been 10 years na in the industry... we're turning 10 this October.

"So feel ko naman, maraming na kaming natutunan talaga in the past years and it just makes us a better brand."

SOMETHING NEW

Her latest release, the Jelly Kiss Glossy Lip Tints, glides on effortlessly and promises a long-lasting, buildable color.

Recalling the creation process, she shared, "I bought everything, lahat, from Korea, international, all of the local ones. And talagang pinagnilayan ko siya.

"Sinuot ko lahat, in-experiment ko lahat. 'Okay, so where do we fit in? What's the gap in the current roster locally na we can fill?'"

Nina explained how it stands out from the usual lip tints on the market.

"We made sure it has buildable coverage kasi Filipinas, unlike Koreans, we have two-toned lips, di ba?

"Most of our lips are dark or we have hyperpigmentation. So, we made sure that our pigmentation can really work with two-toned lips."

She added, "The Korean brands kasi, puro nude, puro neutral, puro light, but our lips naman are not light like theirs.

"So we made sure that this first eight na ni-release namin is made for Filipinas talaga."

She said the finished product combines all the best qualities a lipstick can offer.

"The longer you wear it, the jelly-ier it gets. And then, after a while, it leaves a stain behind.

"This is something na you won't get from just one product right now that's available.

"So, this one is parang pinagsama-sama namin lahat ng advantages or ng strengths ng mga brands right now."

In addition to its jelly texture and long-lasting tint, Nina highlighted its skin-care ingredients.

"Tapos we have four nourishing actives. We have Hyaluronic acid, we have Black Truffle extract, Snow Mushroom extract, and Summer Grass extract for the antioxidants and soothing and nourishing features of it."
