Content creator Nina Ellaine Dizon still can't believe that her beauty brand Colourette Cosmetics has turned 10 years old.
The beauty entrepreneur and her team mounted the Colourette Cafe on October 18, 2025, transforming Angkan Coffee in Capitol Commons into a beauty haven to honor their decade in the industry.
Reflecting on this milestone, Nina said it's just so surreal for them to achieve such a feat.
She told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an interview at the event: "It's so surreal. It, it's always been so surreal kasi nga si Colourette, we didn't really meant for it to be the brand it is today.
"It kind of snowballed into this Filipino brand lang. And I'm so proud of what we've built and the team and the community that we were able to, you know, cultivate in the brand."

NINA ELLAINE DIZON: THE BIG COMEBACK FOR COLOURETTE
As a special highlight of the 10th-anniversary celebration, Colourette Cosmetics also brought back the fan-favorite line of blurring lip tints called Velvetints.
She said: "Iniisip kasi namin for our tenth year, 'Oh my God, ten years na pala. Anong pasabog?' Kasi ang bilis ng panahon. Tapos naisip namin, 'I think, si Velvetints na ito, guys, for our tenth year.'
"Kasi in my comment section, we see it on a daily basis, 'Miss Nina, kailan babalik yung Velvetints?' ganyan. So okay, eto na, pagbigyan na natin yung Peaches."

The iconic blurring lip tint has been re-released twice before, but this time, the return is permanent.
More than just a re-release, the collection is now more curated, intentional, and thoughtfully designed for the Filipino market.
Nina shared: "This is the third launch because the first two was parang on the third year of Colourette, and then the other one was at the sixth year of Colourette or something, and then this one naman sa tenth year.
"It's not gonna go away anymore. It was a pretty challenging formula kasi that's why we had to take it out of the market and then relaunch it and then take it out of the market again.
"But this one, we've studied it for a while and this is really Colourette's take on the K-beauty trendy lip.
"Kasi that's what we do in Colourette, especially in our product development.
"We always take an existing product in the market and we make it more Filipino based on the requirements of our community. Ano yung shades na gusto nila, do they like longevity? Do they want comfort?
"And that's what we did with the Velvetints."
The third edition of the Velvetints now features 10 new shades, including Bare Blossom (Soft Blush), Birthday Cake (Muted Brick), Crushed Rose (Rich Red), Midnight Petal (Dark Berry), Misty Mauve (Soft Plum), Mocha Blush (Tan Rose), Peach Serenade (Warm Salmon), Spring Bloom (Sweet Pink), Sunset Tea (Soft Brown Coral), and Truffle Kiss (Cool Chocolate).
Asked how the new shade range was chosen, Nina revealed that they listened closely to their customers for inspiration.
"It's more of listening to what they wanted," she explained.
"So say for example, for Jelly Kiss, kasi when we launched it last, parang, a few months ago, they found na parang, 'Oh, okay. It's perfect for two tone lips but we kind of want more desaturated shades.'
"So for Velvetints, you would see more desaturated shades and it's still buildable for two tone lips.
"Tapos, may pang-morena for those who want a peach. Tapos, the red, there's two kinds of reds which honestly, yun yung favorite ko. Holiday shades ko yun."
Nina confirmed that even though the Velvetints are back for good, customers can still count on the beloved, original formula that made the product so popular.
"It's not like, a new formulation but it's an existing formulation, and then Colourette's take on it lang.
"So as you can see, it's really blurring. It feels super hydrating all throughout the day, di ba? You can feel it. Like it doesn't mattify.
"And then it leaves a transfer-resistant stain. So, that's my favorite part about it. So even though, like, there will be a slight transfer but it's still going to be on your lips. Ganoon, may stain siya."
She added, "We is still in the process of making our portfolio complete, di ba? Parang, in comparison to other local brands right now, kami yung may pinakakaunting number of products talaga.
"Kasi as much as possible, we really try to remain intentional with all of our releases.
"Gusto namin pag nag-release kami ng product, it's gonna stay for a while and not na trendy lang siya or fad lang siya.
"So, Velvetints, we feel like eto na yung innovation na na-develop namin for the velvet, cloudy, pillowy lip that's gonna stay relevant naman for, for a while."
MOVING FORWARD
With Colourette Cosmetics celebrating its 10th anniversary, PEP asked Nina about her bigger goals for the brand.
For Nina, the future is all about strengthening the relationship with the community she has built.
"Honestly, our bigger goals is to really just grow the brand, especially now for 2025, Colourette has grown so much.
"Kasi parang medyo nag-lie-low si Colourette, parang, two, three years ago, e. Tapos now, sabi ko na ng, "She's back!" Ganun.
"And I'm very, very grateful that the community was still there, open arms and everyone's so excited.
"And now, parang, nakita mo sa event, parang, "Oh my God! Ang daming punta!"
"So the goal of Colourette in the next few years is to really just continue what we're doing, adding more products to our portfolio, getting to know more of our community members.
"Sana this time, not just in Metro Manila but actually meeting them in Visayas and in Mindanao. 'Yun yung goal.
"Talagang, sana mas mapalapit kami sa kanila. Crossing my fingers na we'll be able to do that."
Nina also expressed excitement over the growth of the local beauty industry, especially with the rise of many new Filipino brands.
"I think it's just gonna be more exciting from this point forward talaga," she said.
"Parang mas mag-da-diversify pa. There will be different brands for different branding or personalities, ganyan.
"May edgy, may sexy, may four titas and mommies, may for community like Colourette, right?"
However, Nina hopes that consumers will continue to genuinely support these local companies and avoid tearing them down.
"I want the community to really start genuinely supporting local brands and not pulling them down.
"Kasi sometimes what happens is nakikita ko parang there's a hate train for local brands, like, 'Bakit ang mahal?' or 'Bakit ganito lagi naman sira yung packaging?'
"Because everyone's trying their best. And those kinds of mishaps are not exclusive to local brands.
"Sometimes even if you buy like a luxury brand, sira pa din naman ang packaging but we don't see the same hate train, di ba? Mas mahal pa nga yun.
"So sana we just have more grace for local brands because we really are trying our best. We really are trying to elevate the beauty community in the Philippines."
She continued, "We, of all people, we hold ourselves to the highest standards naman e. Pag may nakita kaming problem, trust us, we are beating ourselves up. Ganun.
"We really feel bad about it and we just try our best to make it up to you and to fix it on our next batch.
"Pero yun, parang, like, genuinely support local brands talaga. Not just Colourette.
"Like, each and every one of us because that will help the overall consumer experience eh. Di ba? Na makikita mo na kami sa mga malls, our retail stores will be better, your customer experience will be improved.
"So sana everything will be coming from a place of constructive criticism. 'Yun lang. And this is me trying to speak for every—all, all beauty owners."
