Real-life partners and renowned aesthetic doctors, Drs. Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho Jr., are once again introducing an innovation to the beauty industry with the launch of Belo Neurocosmetics.

Launched on October 20, 2025, at Antonio's At PGA Cars, the Belo Medical Group's next-generation treatments acknowledge a profound truth: a radiant complexion isn't merely about topical care, but is deeply connected to our emotional well-being and stress responses.

WHAT IS BELO NEUROCOSMETICS?

The Belo Neurocosmetics line is a scientifically-backed approach to beauty that addresses skin issues at their core through the brain-skin-gut connection.

Dra. Vicki elaborates on this powerful three-way link in an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), explaining that when a patient's body experiences stress, the brain releases hormones such as cortisol.

It is well-established that these hormones are capable of directly triggering visible skin problems, which include inflammation, acne, pigmentation, and dullness.

Dra. Vicki observes that many people have likely seen this connection in action: "Have you guys ever broken out, had pimples before an important event, like a wedding or before your exams or, you know, have you ever broken out, like pimples, when you don't want?

"Di ba? So why does that happen?

"Or let's say, have you ever had eczema, for people who have eczema, before a stressful moment?

"Well, that just shows that there is a very tight connection between the skin and your brain...and even your gut.

"So, they call the skin the external part of your brain, they call the gut your second brain."

The Belo Neurocosmetics line steps in as a "peacemaker" to regulate this crucial communication.

It successfully disrupts this detrimental stress cycle by specifically and directly targeting the dialogue between the brain, the skin, and the stomach.

This effect is achieved through the use of key ingredients that interact with the skin's nerve receptors, consequently addressing the neurotransmitters responsible for triggering poor skin health.

One such crucial component is GABA (Gamma-AminoButyric Acid), which, as Dra. Vicki explains, helps to "relax your skin" and de-stress it.

She says, "So these things are things that calm your skin. It helps relax you. And it helps relax your skin and de-stress it.

"So, for example, when you hold tension in your face, like sometimes you feel like, you know, you're so tired, you're freaked out from work, and you feel the tension on your face, GABA, if you apply it on your skin, it will relax your muscles... it relaxes your skin so you get a lift."

According to a study published by Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI), a publisher of peer-reviewed open-access journals, the benefits of GABA (Gamma-AminoButyric Acid) extend far beyond calming stress-induced reactions.

When applied topically, GABA is known to enhance the skin barrier function, boost collagen and elastin synthesis for improved elasticity and wound healing, and provide a temporary "lifting" effect by relaxing facial tension.

The Belo Medical Group also includes NANA (N-Acetyl-5-Neuraminic Acid) in the treatments, an ingredient that helps block melanin production (pigment) for powerful skin brightening and evening effects.

When these neuro-actives are combined, the Belo Neurocosmetics treatments says a strong yet calming effect provides intense moisturizing and "plumping" benefits, ultimately giving the patient a more lifted, resilient, and luminous complexion.

Dra. Vicki explains, "GABA and NANA will relax your skin, and start to lift up because more muscles pull your face down than lift it up.

"Or if you break out, it's because there's stress hormones that are coming out, and the microbiome of your gut is not quite normal.

"So then you get stressed and you break out and you have pimples on the chin, you know, pimples everywhere, just when you wish you had the best skin possible. So this is a brand-new way of looking at skin."

Doc Hayden acknowledges that explaining the technicalities of Belo Neurocosmetics can be overwhelming.

However, he emphasizes that beyond the surface-level results, the Belo Medical Group takes great pride in offering a treatment procedure that genuinely opts for skin longevity.

Doc Hayden says: "[It is] a new skin care that not only talks to your skin. 'Cause normally when you apply skin care, it only works on the area where you apply the topical product, correct?

"So Belo Neurocosmetics talks to the skin cells as well as your nerves, your brain, your microbiome, and the skin repair messengers called exosomes.

"So this is a completely new paradigm being introduced by us."

He adds: "I think the key concept here is now skin longevity... Sa mga bata ngayon, they're now into wellness and longevity. And we believe that skin health is part of overall wellness."

Dra. Vicki throws in, "When we say skin longevity, what we're saying is your cells will function properly for a longer time period."

BEFORE AND AFTER TREATMENT

There's no special preparation required for a Belo Neurocosmetics treatment. As Dra. Vicki advises, patients simply need to show up for their scheduled appointment.

She says, "Show up. We will wash your face. We will be the one deciding your treatment once we look at your skin."

Meanwhile, the duration of the procedure are customized and depend entirely on the patient's specific treatment plan.

The doctor will determine the complexity of the procedure that best meets your individual needs and will advise you accordingly.

Dra. Vicki tells PEP, "It's usually about 40 minutes to an hour. Depending on how you deep you want me to go. If you want me to use a microneedling device, we have to put anaesthesia for 30 minutes, so you add that to your whole duration."

Is there any potential downtime?

Dra. Vicki replies: "If you're just doing a facial, of course, there's no downtime. A lot of people come in who are very busy, 'I can't afford any downtime,' so we do just the facial, that part of it.

"And in that one, you can see results, but it could be much less if you actually did the skin pen, and we got the medicines deeper into your skin."

While instant results may be noticeable, Dra. Vicki advises patients to schedule follow-up treatments to maintain and enhance its initial effects.
