Embracing a season of intentional self-care has been the theme of Mariel Rodriguez Padilla's life these days.
She shared these thoughts during an interview at Marie France’s 40th anniversary gathering at Uma Nota Manila, Shangri-La The Fort, on November 22, 2025.
Mariel spoke about the routines she swears by, the treatments she keeps returning to, and the promise she has made to herself as she ages.

Self-care in the middle of motherhood
Things can get hectic in a mother's schedule, and Mariel is no stranger to this fact.
But, with devotion to self-care and deliberate consistency, she revealed managing to sneak in her weekly sessions with Marie France.
“You know, I am a believer of self-care. I'm a mom of two. I'm a very hands-on mother. And, um, I'd like to think I'm a hands-on wife as well.
“I'm a homemaker, but I do believe that self-care is very sacred.
“So, I do it three times a week with Marie France, and I go once a week with facial care," she admitted with a laugh.
“So, talagang may pampering na nagaganap when my kids are in school.”

Mariel's go-to treatments
Mariel’s relationship with her go-to beauty clinic is so long-standing and involved that she can describe most of their machines better than some consultants.
“I do Wonder Axon, I do FMS E, I do Endospheres, and then one of my favorites are TMP. I also like EDM [Endermologie+],” she enumerated confidently.
“Actually, you know, so many of the machines...I have tried. Kaya ko na silang i-explain sa sobra talagang nagbababad ako ng time doon.”
For those new to the brand, she talked about the basics: “But of course, if it's your first time, my Marie suggestions are PDT [Plasti-Dermi Treatment]. It's very effective.
“It will really pulverize your fats. I started with that. Physique and then the FMS Elite. Yun talaga. Yun yung mga basic, classic for me.”
Below are Marie France's descriptions of their treatments:
- Wonder Axon: a muscle stimulation device that delivers the equivalent of three hours at the gym with 60,000 muscle contractions in just 25 minutes.
- Endospheres Treatment: a compressive microvibration therapy powered by 55 rotating spheres that refine contours and support lymphatic flow.
- TMP (Thermo Magnetic Pulse): an FDA-approved technology that sculpts, tightens, reduces fat, and smoothens cellulite in one go.
- Endermologie+: upgraded version of the iconic body shaping system known for triple-action debulking, cellulite reduction, and firming.
- PDT (Plasti-Dermi Treatment): a vacuum-pressure treatment that softens hardened areas, reduces inches, and boosts lymphatic drainage.
- Physique Inch Loss: a spot fat reduction treatment that uses Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) technology to tone the skin, eliminate fat, and strengthen muscles.
- FMS Elite: a Swiss-developed system that jumpstarts fat burning—up to 1,000 calories in 30 minutes—while you lie down.

Holding off on botox...for now
One of Mariel's personal beauty goals at this point of her life is stretching her natural aging process as far as she can before turning to injectables.
“My goal is to not do Botox until I’m 50. That’s what I’m trying to do,” she revealed.
“I sleep well, I try to eat healthy, and I do a lot of self-care with Marie France… feeling ko lang, kaya ko pa siyang i-stretch.”
She supplements with collagen and antioxidants, hoping these help her maintain firmness and glow for a few more years.
It isn't a hard rule, but a conscious effort to meet her 50-year-old self with as much natural support as she can offer her.
“Pero I know that there will come a time, pag 50 na ako, baka doon mag-Botox na ako.”
On the topic of cosmetic procedures, she emphasized that she is not against them.
Beauty is personal, according to the TV host. Enhancements, even more so.
“It’s up to the person, di ba? It’s different for every person,” she said.
“I just feel that the younger kids now, I feel they do it too much. I think they’re doing it too early.
“But I get it kasi dati rin nun, yung super, super, super, super payat ako, akala ko nun super, super, super taba ko. Alam mo yun?
“So, girl, may maitataba pa pala, or may mai-aano pa pala.
“If I knew that then, e, di sana di ba, mas na-love ko yung self ko noon di ba? Instead of like thinking na ganon.”
Her advice for the generation growing up with filters and instant fixes is to get proper guidance, take time to understand their body, and learn to love it in the moment they are in.
