Just because you’re getting older doesn’t mean you have to settle for doing less.

What if you could “reverse” the aging process and regain the strength, vitality, and sharpness of your younger years?

What if you had the opportunity to “cure” breast cancer before it even became serious?

Dr. John Paul “JP” Pareja, a specialist in cosmetic surgery, developed a keen interest in anti-aging medicine.

This passion eventually led him to study in South Korea for several years to learn advanced techniques in age-defying treatments.

It is no secret that South Korea is a global leader in beauty and wellness.

The doctor told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) that he brought these services to the country because they were not yet being offered in the local wellness and beauty industry.

“Recently, after the pandemic, nakita natin yung pangangailangan. And most of my friends actually within my circles are actually doing this kind of treatments abroad.

"So what I did was I brought in the technology from other countries, bring it here in the Philippines as one, as Owen, to provide that. And this is a specific clinic in which we are dedicating it for longevity and regenerative medicine," said the practitioner with experience for over a decade.

Dr. Pareja made this announcement at the launching of Owen Revitalization & Longevity Clinic last February 8, 2026.

Some of the treatments offered by his clinic include stem cell therapy, peptide therapy, hyperbaric chamber sessions, and plasma exchange therapy, which he claims is the first of its kind in the country and was brought in from the U.S.

THE CLINIC AIMS TO "DEFY" AGING

Plasma exchange therapy is a medical procedure that removes autoantibodies, toxins, and abnormal proteins from a patient’s plasma. It is used to treat various autoimmune diseases.

Dr. Pareja explained that it is also intended for people aged 40 and above who want to feel and look younger.

“They are already accepting the fact that they already aged, but they don't know that we have this kind of treatments in which we can reverse aging and make you fit, make you perform better, or maybe better than when you were younger. So yun yung gusto natin i-provide for our patients," said Dr. Pareja.

He underlined: “Now, it doesn't mean [when] you age, dapat mahina ka na, dapat di mo na nagagawa yung things that you enjoy and you love doing.

"And, of course, gusto natin maibalik iyon even if you are in your 50s, 60s, or even 70s. So, quality of life, gusto nating i-provide for our patients.”

NOT MAGIC

This writer pointed out to Dr. Pareja that his statement sounded too good to be true.

He replied: “Of course, this is not a single-therapy session. So, we are exchanging, siyempre, yung mga treatments na ito para ma-reverse natin yung aging process or even delay the aging process. And, of course, restoration of your function.”

The cosmetic surgeon went on to detail the process a patient undergoes to achieve the desired results.

“So if you're performing not so well right now on your memory, on your endurance, or yung activities, yun yung nare-restore natin, especially yung mga joint mobilities, the strength, the mental endurance. Yun yung mga binabalik natin.

“Of course, better sleep sa mga pasyente, because this will all fall down on the resting period of your body.

"So ini-increase natin yung resting and recovery period para mapalitan natin yung mga stress na na-endure natin when we were younger. So that's the concept behind it.”

He then emphasized, “So this is not magic that we can do it ng isang session, then boom, you're younger. But, of course, mas dinadamihan natin yung recovery and regeneration ng body mo in order maka-catch up siya sa age mo.

"And then eventually, if it catches up already, dun mare-reverse yung aging.”

As part of the standard operating procedure (SOP), the patients undergo numerous tests, including determining their DNA age.

The doctor explained: “So even me, I'm, 36. But if you check my DNA age, depending on my lifestyle, baka 45-50 years old na yung age ko, DNA age or yung function ng katawan ko.

“So that's what we are trying to reverse. So tinitingnan natin yung mga lab markers like triglycerides, cholesterol, sugar. Tinitingnan natin yung function ng bawat organ natin.

"And that's what we are trying to reverse and even delay dito sa Owen Clinic."

He remarked that while the clinic's holistic treatments primarily target the essential issues of the body, the aesthetic benefits naturally follow.

“If your function is good, yung form mo or yung look mo, mag-secondary, susunod iyan whether you like it or not.

"Magmumukha ka talagang bata, e, because you are functioning efficiently as a person. So iyan yung part na holistic na from the hair to toe, tsini-check natin lahat."

APPROACH THAT CAN "CURE" CANCER

The cosmetic surgeon also explained that the treatments also cater to people who may develop cancer, such as breast cancer.

“So any illnesses that you might be, may mga precursor ka, or mga namamana na hindi pa siya nakikita right now, we can already check it in your blood and we can prevent it from happening, like certain type of cancers.

"We know that cancers are preventable as long as you catch it early," the doctor stressed.

"So that's why that's the concept of cancer therapy right now. Gusto mo siyang makita and ma-detect mo siya agad in order for you to prevent it or even treat it at an earlier stage."

Dr. Pareja claimed, “Actually, to be honest, 95% of cancers, if you treat it at an earlier or catch it at an earlier stage, treatable, curable.

“Kaya lang naman siya nagiging untreatable and di naku-cure kapag umabot na siya sa late stage because the cancer cells [have] already metastasized or nag-spread to other organs of your body.

“But if it's solely nanduduon lang siya sa area na iyon, just remove it or even do radiation or take medicines, gagaling siya. So that's the advanced method when it comes to cancer therapy.”

He confirmed that many patients have come to him for this concern.

“Usually most of our patients ay yung mga mayroon silang recognizable gene for breast cancers.”

He cited Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie as an example.

"As you know, if you can recall, Angelina Jolie... She did the test and she was positive for the BRCA gene mutation.”

A BRCA gene mutation refers to a gene, which when mutated, can carry increased risks of several cancers, such as breast cancer.

“So what she did was instead of waiting for it to happen, pinatanggal na niya yung breast tissues niya. So, if you don't have the breast tissue, you won't have the breast cancer in the future anymore," explained the doctor.

Angelina underwent the procedure in 2013.

“So most of our patients are doing that, yung breast cancer screening.

“Marami na kaming clients for that and marami na rin kaming patients na since they tested positive, we removed the breast, empirically. Preventable.”

Won’t the condition come back after the procedure?

“Well, nothing is guaranteed 100%. But most of the patients are 99.8% guaranteed that they won't have it,” he answered.

When asked about the target audience of his clinic, Dr. Pareja answered: "The patients who are really into their health journey. Yung mga who are really taking their health seriously.

"So binibigyan namin ng enlightenment yung people na gusto namin, who are the professionals, siyempre yung mga breadwinners natin that they are providing for their family.

“Siyempre, they are the ones who really have to invest on themselves because if something happened to them, how about their family?

"So, most of our client list here are young professionals to late professionals. So yun yung karamihan ng mga patients natin.”
