Heart Evangelista believes that body care deserves the same level of attention as facial skin care.
The actress emphasized that the skin is the body’s largest organ and should not be neglected.
Apart from make-up, Heart spoke extensively about body care during SM Beauty Con 2026, held from March 19 to 22, 2026, at the SMX Convention Center Manila in Pasay City.
One routine that Heart strongly believes in is giving products enough time to work on the skin before rinsing them off.
"Siguro, I allow myself to really give time for the product to, you know, get into my system," she shared.
"Kumbaga, whenever I lather soap, I really allow it to just sit there for a while, bago ko siya niri-rinse."
Heart explained that many people tend to rush through their routines, which limits the effectiveness of products.
"Kasi minsan, pag nagmamadali ka, parang pag bumula na, hugas na agad. No. Let the benefits affect first your skin, and then... before you rinse."
She added that taking care of oneself requires intention and patience.
"Minsan, you really have to take time if you really want to take care of yourself."
When it comes to ingredients, Heart said retinol is one of her favorites and she is happy to see more body-care products now incorporating it, as it helps slow down aging.
Another key ingredient she always looks for is SPF.
"I love everything with sunblock in it," she said.
Heart further explained that sun protection is essential, as sun exposure is one of the biggest enemies of the skin.
She said, "It's almost summer and we go to the beach, we have to swim. But I really make sure to protect my skin."
Even while attending fashion shows abroad, Heart remains strict about sun protection.
"After ng picture, tumatakbo talaga ako. That's the honest truth."
Beyond products, Heart shared that her body-care routine also focuses on proper rest and hydration.
"And it's also drinking lots of water and sleeping well at night. I make sure I'm in bed at 9:30 P.M. Pero really, hindi ako lumalampas ng 12 midnight.”
