Jodi Sta. Maria and her two beauty must-haves

"We just play out with her features. Nothing really heavy and nothing too fancy," says make-up artist Denise Ochoa on Jodi Sta. Maria's signature look.

Behind Jodi Sta. Maria’s Amor Powers look is a make-up artist who knows too well how to bring out the actress's best assets and natural beauty.

Her name is Denise Ochoa, who was an awardee during the SM Beauty Ball, held at Shangri-La Hotel in Makati.

When she and her client turned close friend Jodi walked down the carpet, (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked to detail how she glams up the Kapamilya star for shows and events.

Denise said, “Most of the time, we don’t really do yung something really heavy because her features are very delicate.

“I don’t want to overpower it with so much make-up kasi sayang yung, you know, her natural beauty.

“So yun, we just play out with her features.

“Nothing really heavy and nothing too fancy.”

JODI’S OWN STYLE. When off-cam, Jodi said she just keeps her look simple.

In fact, she only has two must-have beauty tools for her face.

Jodi said, “Cheek tint is very important for me.

“And also eyebrow pencil lang kasi manipis yung eyebrows ko, so kailangan talaga.

"I believe bring out lang yung natural beauty and hindi i-overpower yung make-up.

"Yung features, kumbaga, mas i-enhance lang."

For her hair, Jodi isn’t afraid to experiment and try something new.

In 2015, Jodi sported three different hairstyles—from layered bob to pixie to soft-layered bob—when she played the role of Amor Powers in Pangako Sa ’Yo.

Her present hairdo is a bronde bob, a mixture of lightest gold and lightest ash blondes.

Jodi considered many factors on why she decided to sport light hair color for the first time.

“I was thinking na it’s summer and since I don’t have work, I thought of, you know, doing something with my hair.

“At saka kasi naman pag nag-embark ako sa next project ko, hindi ko na siya ulit magagalaw.

“So I think, this is the time na medyo I do something crazy with it, " she said.
