Singer/dancer/actress Vina Morales is also an entrepreneur.
For almost 18 years now, she has successfully run the beauty salon Ystilo, with her sisters Shaina, Sheryl, and Sheila.
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) had the chance interview the 40-year-old Kapamilya star on May 4, at Club Filipino, Greenhills in San Juan, where she revealed the key to the beauty salon’s success.
“We’re updated sa trend.
“The brands mismo that we offer in our salon, the premium brand, they’re the ones who teach our staff, our seniors.
“We make sure na updated palagi yung mga hairstylists namin para naman alam ng mga customers kung may gusto man sila, like this kind of color or like this kind of hair coloring, haircut, we wanna make sure that we give best quality service.
“If that’s what you’re selling, you have to be on the trend.
“Kunwari selling this product, you have to make sure na it is super okay at updated.”
To constantly improve the quality of their services, Ystilo holds an annual hairstyling demonstration with renowned hairstylists, this year, with Antonio Robustelli (right) and Catherine Lorenzi (left), who flew all the way from Milan, Italy.
Vina said, “We usually do this every year para to refresh our seniors and to be in touch on what’s new with the hair color and the new hair cut for the collection 2016.
“Helen Seward master class seminar is only exclusive for Ystilo salon.
“So these two hair experts in Milan, dinala dito to teach our seniors on the proper way, on how to use the brand and also yung sa mga hair treatments.
“We’re very proud to say na they went all the way from Milan to teach our seniors.”
These demos have been helping them gain “loyal clients.”
She said, “Nadadagdagan at nadadagdagan pa because we make sure that our seniors are trained well.
“Like what you see now, di ba, yung mga nagtre-train sa kanila is karamihan ay galing sa ibang bansa.
“The hair color, the hair treatments, yung mga haircuts, the proper way of hair cutting, the proper way of hair coloring, inaalam talaga.”
Despite these investment on the part of Vina and her sister, the prices of their services have remained "very competitive," according to her.
"Hindi naman tumataas yun kasi we’re moving forward on our services.
"But sa prices, we’re sticking to that.
“We are moving forward innovating on the quality of the services.”
