Any girl who believes in fairy tales would have surely fallen in love with Disney animated films, and fantasized about becoming one of the heroines also known as Disney Princesses.
There's Cinderella, who magically turns into a beguiling beauty to attend a ball.
In her rush to exit before the stroke of midnight, she leaves behind one of her glass slippers.
And, despite the evil doings of her stepmother and stepsister, she is happily found by Prince Charming.
There's Snow White, the one with seven little miner friends, who falls into a deep sleep after eating the poisoned apple given by her jealous stepmother, then, magically wakes up when a prince kisses her.
There's Belle from the Beauty and the Beast who fearlessly faces and graciously tames a cursed prince.
There's Ariel from The Little Mermaid, who steps out of her comfort zone to find her destiny and true love.
There's Elsa from Frozen, who learns to accept and puts into good use her icy powers. And the list goes on.
Thus, princess wannabes rejoiced when the multinational entertainment conglomerate Disney collaborated with the local Filipino makeup brand Happy Skin to come up with the unique Disney Princess line.
Some of those fans trooped to the recent launch of the Happy Skin X Disney limited edition makeup collection, and had a blast checking out lippies, powder foundation, to name a few.
The celebrity guest list included movie and TV stars Heart Evangelista, Carla Abellana, Ylona Garcia, and Wyn Marquez, as well as fashion icons Tessa Prieto-Valdes and Tweetie de Leon.
Along with former model and Happy Skin co-founder Rissa Mananquil-Trillo, they all revealed to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) their favorite Disney Princesses.
"Actually, I love all of them, from Pocahontas, Ariel, lahat! I’m a Walt Disney baby.
"But today, I’m representing Snow White, which I also love because of our love for animals and kids.
"And I love white."
"All-time favorite is Snow White pa din kasi when I was younger, I used to dress up like Snow White.
"I had short hair. I had the same bangs. So I would really dress up as Snow White pag Halloween."
"My favorite is Tiana from the Princess and the Frog. Why? Why not?"
"Sa akin, si Belle. Ano siya, binibigyan niya ng chance ang isang tao bago siya mag-judge. Hindi siya judgmental."
"Actually, when I was growing up, it was like Cinderella. The ultimate, you know.
"And then Sleeping Beauty came over. And I love how Disneyland just changes who you wanna be.
"Now, you know with women empowerment and everything, it’s like Ariel for me. Defying from your world to reach another world just for love.
"And now with the Princess not being defined by who she loves, it’s like Elsa. She is now the princess that doesn’t need a Prince Charming to save her. She saves her own self. I’m all for that.
"But I’m a Sea Princess. I love my Ariel. I have an appreciation for the water."
Sea Princess is also her Instagram username.
TWEETIE DE LEON
"I’m a sea lover, that’s why Ariel is my favorite."
"I’d have to say Belle because I love the story. I also grew up loving books, and she did what was always right even if it wasn’t easy."
