Make collagen your best friend!

They say that life begins at 40.

While that may be true, your skin on the other hand may not feel just as young as you think you are.

With this realization, it’s time to change and update your beauty products to attend to what your skin really needs at this stage in your life.

Scroll down and check what you have to change in your regimen.

Exfoliate gently.

From the past two decades, we’ve instructed you to lay off the exfoliators so as to not scrape off the natural oils of your face.

Now, with collagen production slowing down, more dead skin cells stay on your face.

And to avoid pore clogging due to piled up dead skin cells, you have to gently exfoliate.

Hydration is key!

As your skin is more prone to dullness and dryness in your 40s, it’s important to keep your skin nourished and hydrated.

Add serum in between your toner and moisturizer to lock in moisture. These concentrates get absorbed by the skin faster.

Lather on SPF.

This might be the only constant thing to have on all your skin regimen through the years.

Harmful rays of the sun will dry out and damage your skin, deepening fine lines around your face.

At this point, however, don’t settle with just UVA or UVB protection. Make sure your sunscreen has a broad spectrum protection with lots of antioxidants in it.

Hoard collagen-infused products.

As mentioned above, collagen production slows down at this point in your life.

So  try to use products that are infused with collagen, be it your eye cream, moisturizer or serums.

Consider collagen your best friend!

Mask the night away!

Let your skin regenerate overnight.

Top off your night skin care routine with masks that are loaded with moisture-retaining ingredients like glycerin, hyaluronic acid, as well as healing ceramides, antioxidants, and natural oils.
