Kathryn Bernardo finally opened her very own nail salon, KathNails by KCMB, last May 26, 2017, at the 5th floor of SM The Block.

Kathryn Bernardo, an avid fan of nail salons, officially turned her passion into a business.

The 21-year-old actress and newly-hailed Box Office Queen is now the chief executive officer of KathNails by KCMB, her first business venture.

With the help of her mom and now business partner Luzviminda "Min" Bernardo, their three-year plan finally became a reality.

At the grand opening of her new passion project held yesterday, May 26, 2017, the Kapamilya star admitted, "Hindi namin ine-expect na magagawa siya this year until sinabi ni Mama nung nagte-taping kami ng Can’t Help Falling In Love na nakahanap siya ng magandang place."

Can't Help Falling In Love was her latest movie with rumored boyfriend and onscreen partner Daniel Padilla, which was shown last April.

"Nagugulat pa lang din ako ngayon na nangyayari na talaga siya," she exclaimed.

As expected, Daniel was present at the opening to support Kathryn's new endeavor.

Asked what inspired her to venture into this business, Kathryn explained, "Actually more on kay Mama ito. Parang gift ko sa kanya.

"Gusto ko meron siyang gawin na small business muna, mag-start hanggang sa may gagawin siya with my sisters.

"So more on si Mama yung magiging hands-on talaga dito.

"Ako, magche-check lang muna."

The La Luna Sangre lead actress added, "Ito yung project na naging hands-on kaming lahat dahil ako rin mahilig ako magpa-nails.

"Very meticulous ako sa mga gamit na gagamitin, sa services, and sa hitsura ng salon."

She even revealed that she was the one who designed the salon's overall look.

"Ako yung nag-ano [design] ng theme, kung paano yung chairs, kung ano yung tiles, lahat.

"And also, yung mga sisters ko, pati iyong sa menu, kami talaga yung gumawa personally.

"Kasi we want it to be a place na kapag pumunta ka, mare-relax ka, but at the same time, puwedeng affordable siya at lahat ng gusto mong polish andito," she explained further.

She also revealed that their polishes were bought from Japan and Hong Kong.

"Na-enjoy ko yung mamili ng mga polish, kami personally yung naghanap ng suppliers ng polish.

"And ako mismo yung pumili ng colors, kasi gusto ko yung maraming choices and safe sa kuko.

"Pinili ko yung mga brands na hindi usually nakikita dito," she proudly divulged.

As a boss, Kathryn said that she has to be strict at times.

She emphasized, "Siyempre kailangan may voice ka and ikaw yung magdi-disiplina sa kanila.

"Pero at the same time, yung mga technicians naman, sila yung nag-seminar na na-orient kung paano sila sa customers.

"Dapat andiyan pa rin yung mag-e-enjoy sila siyempre, dapat maging fun pa rin itong place na ito and at the same time relaxing."

Asked how she feels now that she's a CEO at 21, the Star Magic artist answered with a big grin on her face, "Ang cool niya! Kasi sabi ko ‘Wow astig!’

"Pero marami pa akong kailangang alamin tungkol dito," she humbly admitted.

Aside from nailcare services, they also offer threading, waxing, and massage.

KathNails by KCMB is located at the 5th floor of SM The Block.
