Kate Valdez on being tagged as a look-alike of Kapamilya stars Liza Soberano and Angel Locsin: "Advantage siya kasi napapansin ka ng tao."

If there's one thing Kapuso actress Kate Valdez is getting more of these days, it's a second look.

When strangers pass her by, they can't help but look twice just to make sure she's not the female celebrity they initially imagined her to be.

Aside from her excellent acting portrayal as Mira in GMA-7's Encantadia remake, fans were quick to notice her striking resemblance to Kapamilya star Liza Soberano.

From their chinky eyes, nose, and smile, people swear these two can really pass as celebrity twins.

However, Kate admitted she can't quite see their similarities.

She confessed to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other members of the press, "Nagtatanong din ako kung saan, paano niyo nakikita.

"Kasi syempre ang ganda-ganda niya.

"Ewan ko lang kung paano nila nakikita sa 'kin si Ate Liza.

"I’m wondering kung ano yun, guys."

She cleared though that she's very happy that people note the resemblance.

"Maraming nagsasabi na kahawig ko si Ate Liza and para sa 'kin din naman po, siya yung iniidolo ko.

"In fact, nanonood ako ng mga shows niya and stuff," she admitted.

But aside from Liza, she is also said to be the look-alike of another Kapamilya actress: Angel Locsin.

To this, the GMA artist said, "Well, advantage siya, kasi napapansin ka ng tao."

She emphasized, "I’m different, different kami for me."

For her part, Kate wants people to remember her as "pang-masa."

"Like approachable, hindi naman ako mahirap kausap or kausapin or lapitan.

"Kapag tinawag mo ako, ‘Yes, what’s up?’" she added.

Members of the press joined Kate as she treated her fans to a pamper day at Rich Asuncion's Nail Cocktales in Bonifacio Global City last August 18, 2017, as part of her 17th birthday celebration, three days before her actual birthday.

18TH BIRTHDAY. The Encantadia artist only wished for what any other birthday girl would want.

"Siyempre unang una, wala na akong mahihiling pa kundi good health and safeness for my family.

"And also, more blessings to come, and sa mga fans ko na wag silang magsawa na suportahan ako.

"And sa GMA na alagaan nila ako.

"And also kay God na always naman alam ko sa sarili kong hindi niya ako pinapabayaan and I’m thankful," she enumerated.

A year shy of her 18th birthday, "the biggest birthday celebration," Kate admitted to being pressured and excited at the same time.

Although she still has no solid plans yet for that big event, she wishes to have a "boho-themed" party.
