Thinking of a cool new way to level up your selfie game?
We have just the right idea!
Look up #JVMirrorSeries on Instagram and you’ll find the answer.
Now here’s how it works.
Basically, the subject of the photograph should be you and the mirror showing your reflection.
It’s fairly easy; perhaps the only challenge here is to find the best angle where the camera or the photographer won’t be captured in the frame.
Allow our local celebs to demonstrate below:
Here’s Lovi Poe showing us how it’s done.
Double the mirror, double the fun!
Nope, that’s not Janella Salvador’s equally gorgeous twin sister.
Kim Chiu’s dramatic take on the #JVMirrorSeries can pass as a movie poster, don’t you think?
Solenn Heussaff also joined in on the new mirror selfie trend.
Look at that sultry smize.
John Valle, the celebrity hairstylist who’s most popularly known for his penchant for messy, effortless hair, is the genius behind this hashtag—and in case you haven’t noticed yet, your favorite stars are in on it, too!
"Actually, I just want it to be different from a normal photo na frontal and [just] looking at the camera na mukhang ID picture,” John joked when we asked how it started.
Then, he revealed to Preview how he gets the celebrities to participate in his #JVMirrorSeries.
John said, "If we have a lot of time on the set, I [do] a one-minute photo shoot with them just for Instagram.
"I just click and click and get their best angle, and sometimes I'd ask them to pose looking at the mirror, standing beside it, or holding it.
"The makeup artists nowadays, they have big makeup kits with mirrors and lights, [which makes it] easier for me [to take a] photo with the perfect lighting."
Try to experiment with different kinds of mirrors. For example, this mirror selfie of Kathryn Bernardo (presumably shot inside the bathroom) is easily our top fave!
Turn up the drama with a black and white filter.
We love Cassy Legaspi’s candid spin on it, too. So fresh and innocent-looking!
Sexy tousled locks plus peach monochromatic makeup? Carla Abellana nailed it.
If that's not setting the bar high for your mirror selfies, then we don't know what is.
