Summer season is upon us and as a reminder, keep your skin moisturized and protect your skin with sunblock.
Apart from protecting your skin, here’s a trick you may want to try to cool down the heat: rose water spray.
Teen star Andrea Brillantes makes rose water spray at home whenever she has the time.
Aside from her sunblock and oil blotting sheets, the DIY rose water spray helps keep her face fresh during the summer.
Andrea tells PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), “Maganda yung may baon kang rose water spray para fresh.
“Gusto mo dewy glow, pero hindi oily. Dapat may baon kang gano'n kasi init sa Pinas.”
PEP.ph briefly met up with Andrea at the Ever Bilena anniversary shoot last February 25, in Antipolo City.
BENEFITS OF ROSE WATER. According to a beauty report by Elle.com, rose water “has been revered for centuries,” and is said to be part of Egyptian queen Cleopatra's skin-care routine.
The report also notes that a rose’s scent “has been scientifically proven to reduce blood pressure and levels of stress hormones…”
Rose water has also been proven to be a natural way to reduce puffiness and redness, thanks to its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antioxidant properties.
It can soothe, tone, and moisturize any kind of skin type, and it can help slow down the aging caused by the sun’s UV rays.
So, how exactly does Andrea make her own rose water spray?
She says, “Mahirap i-explain, basta pinapakuluan ko lang yung water 'tapos nando’n lang yung rose.
“Meron sa YouTube. Ginagawa ko siya kapag bored ako.”
