Carla Abellana reveals secret to her gorgeous glow

It’s no question that Carla Abellana is one of showbiz’s loveliest faces. She has many striking features, and Carla’s youthful-looking and lit-from-within skin is what really makes her stand out from the crowd. 

In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph, Carla talked about some of her beauty secrets to staying youthful and radiant. Read on: 

What are some beauty rules you swear by?

One of Carla’s top beauty mantras is, “good makeup is okay, but great skin is better.” 

“Never sleep with makeup on no matter how tired you are!” the actress said. “We exert a lot of effort in doing our makeup, so we should do the same when we take it off.” 

Carla also believes in consistency to achieve beautiful skin. You can’t expect results if you practice good skincare habits only once in a while. “You really have to put in the work and stay disciplined,” she explained.

If you could give some beauty advice to your 18-year-old self, what would it be and why?

“Wear sunblock,” Carla revealed, which makes sense, considering the country’s tropical weather. “Also, don’t be in a rush to pile on makeup because it’s more important to take care of your skin.” 

Apart from these and a plea not to overpluck her brows, Carla would also tell her 18-year-old self to keep things simple and just enjoy the joys of youth. 

How do you keep yourself looking and feeling young?

Apart from taking care of herself physically, Carla also takes care of herself mentally — and this helps a lot in keeping her looking and feeling young. 

“I love to work out, play with my dogs, and take time off social media. When I go offline, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. That really helps keep my mental health in check,” she said.

What is your beauty advice for people who want to look and feel radiant even when they’re feeling down?

Carla shared two tips. The first is about having the right perspective. “Have a positive mindset, even when it’s hard,” she told us. “Allow yourself to feel all the emotions, but at the end of the day, it’s your perspective that will change things.”

Second, “Stick to a lifestyle that’s healthy,” she said. “Eat well because a poor diet can take a toll on you and show on your skin.”

“You also need a solid skincare routine with products you trust. I personally love brightening and hydrating products because they help me stay fresh and radiant,” she added.

What skincare product do you swear by and why?

Carla’s secret: collagen, and lots of it!
