Miss Silka Philippines 2018 celebrates beauty in diversity

Miss Silka Philippines, an annual pageant that advocates the beauty of women inside and out, is one of the most sought-after titles in the country. This year, a total of 26 candidates from different regions came to Manila to represent their respective provinces and compete for the crown.

The pre-pageant activities, which took place at the Market! Market! Activity Center, kicked off on November 27 and culminated on the 30th. The coronation night, on the other hand, was attended by some of the biggest celebrities and industry experts.

The campaign was spearheaded by Cosmetique Asia Corporation in collaboration with Cornerstone Entertainment. Miss Silka Philippines has been celebrating diversity among women by providing an avenue for different regions and cultures to be represented on a national level. Now on its 11th year, it carries on the legacy that a decade of Miss Silka Philippines winners have established.

The pageant was hosted by RnB star Jay-R and vlogger Sunny Kim, along with a flurry of special guests, including Iñigo Pascual and Silka Papaya ambassador Yassi Pressman.

As for the winner? Maraiah Queen Arceta from Cebu was crowned Miss Silka Philippines 2018. She also took home a cash prize of P150,000 and Silka merchandise. Maraiah’s chosen charity is also set to receive P100,000 worth of donations.

Also crowned this year are Roxanne Baeyens from Baguio (first runner-up), Shiermay Elnar from Bicol (second runner-up), and AJ Garcia from Pampanga (third runner-up).
