Kyline Alcantara's 18th birthday will be in September, but she is already getting a head start on the preparations for her debut.
"Kahit na medyo malayo pa po iyung 18th birthday ko, kailangang unahin ko raw muna yung guest list.
"'Tapos, isusunod na po namin yung venue and the rest will follow na po," Kyline tells PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at the opening of All-Out Sundays on January 5, Sunday, at the GMA Studio Annex Building.
The Kapuso star has her heart set on a forest theme.
"Napanood ko po kasi yung Maleficent at nagustuhan ko yung mala-enchanted forest.
"Type ko lang po, kasi hindi naman siya magiging dark and scary. Masaya siyang forest at very colorful," she says.
It is set to be a grand affair, as she quips, "Kaya from now hanggang sa debut month ko, work lang po tayo nang work dahil medyo malaki po ang magagastos natin."
Who will be Kyline's escort at her debut?
Kyline laughs, "Kaya ko pong maglakad ng mag-isa sa debut ko po. It's okay po na kahit wala po akong escort.
"Actually, puwede naman po ang daddy ko. At siya rin po ang magiging first dance ko."
KYLINE SAYS LOVE CAN WAIT
It seems Kyline is being paired with Miguel Tanfelix in GMA-7's All-Out Sundays. Miguel's love-team partner Bianca Umali is not in the show's line-up.
Every Sunday, Kyline and Miguel are featured in a special dance number with other Kapuso millennials like Mavy Legaspi, Shayne Sava, Lexi Gonzales, and JD Domagoso.
Kyline has no problem working with Miguel every week.
"Okey naman po kami ni Miguel. Pareho po kaming walang problema sa isa't isa. We're both professionals po kaya ang mga gagawin naming dalawa for All-Out Sundays ay part ng trabaho namin," she says.
The young star also asserts that Miguel never courted her, and having a love life is the least of her priorities for now.
"Hindi po nanligaw si Miguel sa akin. Yun po ang totoo.
"Para matapos na rin po ang haka-haka sa aming dalawa, di ba?
"'Tsaka, wala po akong nagiging love life pa.
"Though, of course, gusto ko rin naman na may matatawag akong inspirasyon or special someone, pero okey na po ako sa walang love life.
"Focus ko po talaga ay work, work, work. 'Tsaka na po ang love, love, love!" she laughs.
KYLINE ON CO-STARRING WITH NORA AUNOR
Kyline is also preparing for the GMA-7 teleserye Bilangin Ang Bituin Sa Langit, which will be top-billed by Nora Aunor. The show is a TV remake of the 1989 award-winning Elwood Perez film produced by Regal Films.
In the TV remake, Kyline plays the role of Maggie dela Cruz, while Mylene Dizon plays her mom Magnolia dela Cruz. Nora Aunor takes on the role of Magnolia's mom Cedes, originally played by Perla Bautista.
Kyline is excited for her first taping day with Nora this January.
"Kung wala pong magiging aberya, January 17 po ang unang taping day ko with Miss Nora.
"Kinabahan nga po ako, kasi siyempre, it's Miss Nora Aunor na napakagaling na artista 'tapos ang director po namin ay si Ms. Laurice Guillen.
"Pinagdarasal ko nga po na sana, hindi po ako kabahan nang husto at baka masigawan ako ni Direk Laurice at mapahiya ako kay Miss Nora.
"Isa ito sa magiging unforgettable experience ko being an actress. Hanggang ngayon po, hindi ako makapaniwala na makakatrabaho ko po ang nag-iisang Superstar," Kyline says.
Kyline first met Nora when they rode the elevator together at GMA Network Center on their way to the story conference of Bilangin Ang Bituin Sa Langit.
She recounts, "Pagbukas po ng elevator, si Miss Nora po ang bumungad sa akin. Nahiya nga po akong pumasok.
"Pero dahil pagkakataon ko na iyon, nagpakilala po ako kay Miss Nora at niyakap ko po siya.
"Natuwa naman po siya sa akin. Sinabi po niya, 'Ikaw pala si Kyline.'
"Noong ma-interview po kami ni Ms. Nora for TV, sinabi po niya sa akin, 'Ang ganda pala ng mga mata mo.’
"Siyempre po, kinilig ako dahil galing po kay Ms. Nora yung papuring iyon."
The young Kapuso star is already preparing herself for their heavy scenes together.
She tells PEP.ph, "Ready po ako. Gusto ko pong ma-experience ang makasama si Ms. Nora sa eksena at pati po si Ms. Mylene Dizon.
"May nagpayo po sa akin na maging natural lang ako kapag kaeksena si Miss Nora. Huwag daw akong kabahan at baka makalimutan ko ang lines ko.
"Ang importante po ay mabigay ko po ang hinihingi ni Direk Laurice at maging maganda rin po ang experience ko working with the Superstar."
