It was a dream come true for Aubrey Miles and Troy Montero to do a wedding-themed photoshoot on the majestic island of Camiguin.
And the celebrity couple set the "Island Born of Fire" ablaze with their trash-the-dress-themed photo session.
"Since I was a kid, I’ve been hearing Camiguin and this is our first time," Aubrey told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an interview last August 24, 2022, at Nouveau Hotel, Camiguin.
She continued, "And I’m very happy and excited to be doing this shoot for Wedding Library with Troy.
"And siyempre, first time namin talagang magkaroon ng isang bridal fair and nakikita namin ito lagi sa billboard. And this is one of our, parang, goals… and here pa in Camiguin.
"So sabi ko sa kanya, we have to explore during the shoot. So excited kami na ipakita sa inyo kung ano yung nakita namin."
The couple did the shoot for The Wedding Library's upcoming bridal fair happening on February 10 to 12, 2023, at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
TRASH THE DRESS THEME
Trash the Dress shoots, also known as "fearless bridal" or "rock the frock," are usually done after the wedding.
As the name suggests, the brides essentially ruin their dresses during the shoot.
The couple did this photoshoot two months after they tied the knot in an intimate civil wedding ceremony last June 9, 2022.
Aubrey and Troy were very willing to do the shoot since the theme was right up their alley.
Aubrey said, "You know what, we always hear that ‘trash the dress’ and for us, sabi ko, ‘What’s that?’
"And now we did it, I’m like, ‘E…’ Well, not sure if you guys know, we’re always doing like the sexy shoots. So kaming kami talaga ito.
"Parang pag walang ganun, parang hindi kami. At least we can do the ‘trash the dress’ and the normal dress and the bridal dress.
"So parang, overall, happy kami kasi naranasan namin yun... Effort lang pero worth it."
The couple's sexy photo session was done at two of Camiguin's popular tourist attractions: the iconic White Island and the Katibawasan falls.
Troy was glad that they were able to witness the beauty of these places while doing the wedding photoshoot.
He said, "I think it’s super cool to do in this location. To be able to do it here in a beautiful beach, white sand. So yeah, it was like perfect."
Asked which of the two locations was their favorite, Aubrey had a hard time picking one.
She said, "Pareho. We like the white sand and, of course, the falls. I like all my dresses. I like all the pegs and ideas.
"I don’t know, it’s so hard, the question! Dalawa lang kasi pagpipilian mo and it’s so hard."
The actress continued, "For us kasi, parang beach is sexy vibes. Sa falls, parang, enchanting."
Troy echoed Aubrey's answer and said, "I would say for me, as well, both locations were beautiful, something that we wanna like visit on our own, in our free time.
"It’s that amazing, you know, in their own right. We went to the white sand beach, which is very cool.
"And then later, when we got back to the falls, I was like, pretty amazed. Different vibe and different natural beauty here in Camiguin.
"And when we were able to see the falls, we were like, ‘Wow, this is [amazing]!’"
Troy hopes he and Aubrey would be able to come back and enjoy the island with their children Maurie, Hunter Cody, and Rocket.
He said, "Although we were there and we’re there for a shoot, we’re there working, we’re just thinking this is something we’d definitely come back to with the family, maybe, with friends, or something."
DREAM TEAM
Aside from the scenic views, Aubrey and Troy loved how easy their shoot turned out.
Aubrey said, "Of course, we liked everything here. The whole team, lahat talaga, very professional, mabilis. Hindi rush na mabilis.
"Mabilis na talagang we made sure na everything is good shot.
"And lahat talagang tutok sila. And of course, our stay in Nouveau is sobrang very pampered kami, from food to rooms. Talagang service di ba?"
Troy added, "Actually, we didn’t really know what to expect once we arrived.
"Pero, first of all, the resort here, Nouveau, is very, very nice. It’s very chic, it’s very beachy, it’s new.
"And it kinda fits the whole team. Parang A-team na so we have like, everyone brought their A-game.
"Everyone is really very efficient and parang walang lag. Everyone’s like, ‘Let’s go!’ And then, you know, we just get everything done nice and smooth and very good vibes."
For this shoot, Aubrey and Troy were dressed up by Vhee Co. Their glam team included Faye Young and Reuben Luague of Makeup Academy Manila.
