Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda is set to make her debut performance at a Pride event.
The It's Showtime host will grace the much-anticipated Pride PH Festival entitled Love Laban 2 Everyone at the Quezon City Memorial Circle this Saturday, June 22, 2024.
Pride PH, a non-profit organization comprised of a diverse network of LGBT organizations, is partnering with the local government of Quezon City to bring this event to life.
This year marks the organization's third Pride Month celebration, following the successful Alab For Love in 2022 and Love Laban in 2023.
Vice Ganda is particularly exuberant that this year's Pride event is expected to draw a crowd of 150,000 to 200,000 attendees, surpassing last year's turnout of 110,000.
"I'm super excited for the Pride event on June 22 sa Quezon Memorial Circle," the TV host told the press, including PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, during a brief chat at the Rampa Manila 2 fashion show held at the Manila City Hall.
"Ito yung first time ko na talaga magpe-perform sa biggest Pride event. Uma-attend naman ako ng mga events ng community pero ito talaga yung grandest.
"Sobra akong excited, sobra akong proud for the community na magma-mount ng ganito kalaking event para sa ating lahat, para sa mga members ng community, para sa ating allies."
VICE GANDA GRATEFUL to QUEZON CITY government
For Vice Ganda, her participation in the event demonstrates her heartfelt gratitude to the Quezon City local government for its continuous support via initiatives benefitting the LGBTQIA+ community.
She said, "Gusto kong mag-perform sa sarili kong pamamaraan [bilang] pagpapasalamat ko sa Quezon City government, para sa laki ng suporta nila para sa community at para sa pagsuporta nila for the LGBTQIA+ rights."
When asked what can the community expect from her performance, Vice Ganda answered, "Isang major magpasikat performance ang ibibigay natin para sa community at sa lahat ng mga allies ng LGBTQ+."
Vice Ganda will be sharing the stage with other artists including BINI, Ben&Ben, Cup of Joe, Gloc-9, Juan Karlos, and Marina Summers, among many others.
Vice Ganda is also looking forward to the special graduation ceremony organized by the Quezon City government for the young members of the LGBTQ community who were denied the opportunity to march at their own graduation for dressing according to their SOGIE (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Expression).
Vice Ganda said, "Ang sarap [sa pakiramdam]. Para akong nanay ng mga bata na yun,"
"Para akong sila [na] hindi ko mawari kung gaano kaimportante ito para sa kanila na makapagmartsa sa isang gradiation, na safe para sa kanila.
"Walang iniisip na anumang pagpuna. Ito’y isang bagay na dapat nilang maramdaman sa espesyal na araw ng graduation nila.
"Kaya sobra akong happy kasi dito ko nararamdaman na 2024 na nga ngayon, hindi tayo paurong.
"Progresibo ang mga nangyayari, paabante siya kaya nakakatuwa na sinisinumlan ito ng Quezon City government at maraming maraming salamat."
VICE GAND: EXCITED FOR "LAST ONE LAUGHING PHILIPPINES"
Meanwhile, Vice Ganda is all fired up about hosting the Philippine version of the international hit comedy series LOL: Last One Laughing, set to premiere on Prime Video this July 4, 2024.
In this laugh-packed series, Vice Ganda will helm a group of 10 comedians, as they compete to display their comedic prowess.
Vice Ganda especially commended the show for turning the spotlight on local comedians.
She said, "Sobrang dami ng komedyante sa Pilipinas, e.
"Ito yung isa sa mga iilang mga programs or shows na pinagsama-sama yung ilan sa mga paborito niyong komedyante."
What can fans expect from the series?
She answered, "Mag-expect kayo na nakakaloka yung mga ganap dun sa loob ng bahay kung saan magaganap yung Last One Laughing.
"Ibang challenge siya, bukod sa patawanan, ito rin, pagalingang magtimpi ng pagtawa kaya iba siya."
