Mel Tiangco honored with distinguished awards for Women's Month

Mel Tiangco was recently honored with two distinguished awards on the occasion of Women's Month in recognition of her dedication to public service and women empowerment.

The highly respected broadcast news personality was among the recipients of the Community Impact Award at the inaugural Babae Awards held on March 6, 2025, by the Women's Business Council Philippines (WomenBizPH).

"I am deeply grateful that I am part of the GMA Kapuso Foundation and the GMA Network for it is there where my professional journey brought me face-to-face and hand-in-hand with our people from all walks of life, especially the women," she said in a speech.

"May I share this recognition with all Filipino women who possess and practice the virtues of resilience, hard work, perseverance, and unwavering spirit."

WomenBizPH is composed of the country's top women business leaders and entrepreneurs and is the leading voice of women in commerce.

It is the lead sector partner of the government, particularly the Department of Trade and Industry and the Philippine Commission on Women, and represents the Philippines in APEC and ASEAN events.

mel tiangco receives another recognition on international women's day

Mel, who is GMA Kapuso Foundation (GMAKF) Ambassador and one of the pillars of GMA Integrated News, received another prestigious award on March 8, 2025, International Women's Day.

This time, she was recognized during the 2025 International Women's Assembly by the YWCA Founder's Federation of the Philippines, Inc. (FFPI).

The 24 Oras anchor was honored for empowering Philippine society and Filipino women through her work in broadcast journalism.

The YWCA FFPI is an international organization and is the oldest YWCA in the country.

Through involvement in various communities, it aims to address the specific needs and challenges faced by Filipino women and girls.
