Toni Gonzaga on love: "When you put someone's happiness first before yours..."

As much as Valentine's Day is a niche day for couples, people tend to forget what love really means.

There are different kinds of love: love for God, love for family, love for friends, love for special someone, love for the country.

But it really is as simple as—if you love something or someone in any way, that is a kind of love.

With that said, an individual can interpret love in many ways.

One song described it as "soft as an easy chair," another said it's "a many splendored thing." (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked celebrities to define and describe the best kind of love.

Janine Gutierrez, who played matchmaker in the morning romance anthology Dangwa in the Kapuso network, summed up the feeling in a word, "Effortless."

Kapamilya actor Enchong Dee said, "The one that even though you hate each other, you still care for each other."

Paulo Avelino took his time to answer.

"The love that money can't buy. It's time. Time that you give someone or take being with someone."

For Toni Gonzaga-Soriano, who is still getting used to her life as a married woman, the best kind of love is being selfless.

She said, "[It's] when you put someone’s happiness first before yours.

"The best kind of love is thinking about the other person rather than thinking about yourself."

As a mom of three adorable kids and a wife to an adorable husband, Chesca Garcia-Kramer sees Team Kramer as the best kind of love.

"The love that I get from them knows no mistakes, it has no boundaries, everything is pure and sincere and always wanting what is best."

Iza Calzado paused when we asked her the question, and thought out loud, "Love that understands, that gives, a love that I think is there...A love that’s there for you no matter what.


"Pero masarap din yung crazy kind, passionate, iba din!

"Depende sa phase ng buhay mo.

"If you can have both, then you are lucky."
