She never talked about dating someone, getting engaged, and tying the knot.
Georgina Wilson just let the people speculate, and took everyone by surprise when her actual wedding was already happening in Winchester, U.K. on April 30.
Nearly three months later, Georgina still replays the wedding weekend in her head.
It would be expected that planning it was arduous, but on the contrary, Georgina thoroughly enjoyed it.
At the Specs Party in Makati on July 6, the Marketing Director of Sunnies Studio told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) that she let her husband take charge.
She said, "I did everything that I wanted which was the food, my dress, and music.
"And he did all the boring, logistical stuff, the invites, stuff I didn’t want to do."
Georgina was the belle of the ball with her stunning Monique Lhuillier bridal gown, which was a wedding gift from Dra. Vicki Belo.
When asked about the engagement phase, she described it as "chill."
"I wasn’t a bridezilla at all. I was so happy, I was so chill, and I’m so happy nobody knew about it. Just my friends.
"It was such a nice, special way of keeping the moment private.
"It felt normal to me, I’m so happy.
"I’m usually more hands-on. I’m like a psycho, so I really let go."
Of course, she had her share of stress.
"Definitely about the planning and the wedding, yeah, but then I just told myself na it’s gonna be fun.
"Everyone I love is in one room, how can it go wrong?"
DON'T OVERCOMPLICATE IT. After releasing the photos taken at The Burnands wedding weekend, it became a peg for destination weddings.
When asked how to plan the perfect day, Georgina remarked, "You know what, people try to overcomplicate weddings. It’s not that hard, it doesn’t have to be so complicated.
"It can just be fun, you know, you don’t have to think so much.
"People are like what’s your cake, what’s your whatever, I’m just like, 'Get what you like.'
"If you don’t want to do a first dance, don’t do a first dance.
"Just don’t overcomplicate it because it’s a very beautiful, fun thing and if you work your head up too much about it, parang sayang.
"You’re the one who’s going to lose out, it’s that one moment in your life."
Did she ever expect that she would be married by now?
"No, not at all. It just happened, and I think that’s the best way to live life.
"Just when it happens. Don’t make so many plans because actually, you’re not really that in charge of your life."
