Heavy rains, floods, and bumper-to-bumper traffic didn't stop tattoo aficionados from trooping to the ultimate tattoo and urban lifestyle expo, #Dutdutan16.
On its 16th year, #Dutdutan16 kicked off with a bang yesterday, Friday, August 12, at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
Celebrities like Baron Geisler, Kiko Matos, and American mixed martial arts (MMA) star Brandon Vera added excitement to the annual festival of inkers.
The festival also gathered some local rock and rap musicians to entertain the crowd.
As early as 1 p.m., the World Trade Center was already filled with tattoo fanatics.

Well-known American mixed martial arts (MMA) artist Brandon Vera was also at the venue and was excited to have his skin inked for the nth time.

Indie actor Kiko Matos also graced the event.
He said he was about to have his second tattoo that evening with a Bruce Lee-inspired design.

At around 10:30 p.m., Baron Geisler arrived at the tat con.
While he was at the MMA ring, he called on Kiko to join him.
The two recently had a word war and a match that ended in a draw.
But that evening, they gave inspirational messages to the local fighters, and hugged each other.

Baron also kissed Kiko on his lips to the amazement of the crowd.

In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Kiko revealed that he and Baron became good friends after their fight last June 25, at the Valkyrie Club in BGC.
Marc Abaya's band, Kjwan, also rocked the crowd.

Local favorite Dong Abay of Yano band also serenaded the crowd.
The most applauded part in his performance was when he sang one of his trademark songs, "Perpekto."

The highlights of the first night: performance of heavy metal and punk band Butcher Babies and URCC MMA fights.

#Dutdutan16 ends tonight, August 13. Dutdutan na!
