In quick succession, 14 celebrity couples plunged into their own forever and exchanged I Do’s in 2016.
It was truly a year of love in showbiz.
Through its own looking glass, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) had taken note of the details that made each wedding a beguiling event.
Here’s our list of the ones that touched and captivated our hearts the most.
1. CRYING BOSSING
On January 30, Vic Sotto and Pauleen Luna got hitched in a star-studded nuptial ceremony at St. James the Great Parish in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
It was 28 years after his first wedding and 24 years after it was annulled, showbiz fans thought Bossing would never remarry.
But Pauleen gave him tons of reasons to believe in marriage again.
So when he recited his vows, he said, "Sanay ako sa mga jowa lang, mga stotitay, mga fling, pero masarap palang sabihin iyong 'asawa ko.'"
Vic tried so hard to keep things light, but after their vows, he and his beautiful bride cried.
2. SUNNY AND HAPPY
On April 29, Georgina Wilson and British businessman Arthur Burnand exchanged I Do’s at St. Peter's Catholic Church in the picturesque Hampshire, the hometown of novelist Jane Austen.
On Instagram, the bride's sister Jessie Wilson said, "After a week filled with snow, hail, and showers, we had the sunniest warmest day for the wedding."
And the bride was smiling all throughout.
3. A PARTY LIKE NO NO OTHER
Just like most weddings, Solenn Heussaff and Nico Bolzico succeeded in making their guests cry during the ceremony held at Eglise Notre Dame de Combourg in France, last May 21.
Here's an excerpt from Solenn's vow:
"From the start, I've always been the one to make wrong decisions, meet the wrong guys. I have always felt that it wasn't my destiny to end up with someone that needed fixing.
"When in fact that I was the one that need fixing. And they I met you. And things just went amazing. I cannot promise you that I won't hate you at times, but I know I will love you harder even when it hurts."
For his part, Nico told his bride, "I promise to be there for you when you need me but also to be there for you when you don't need me.
"I promise to support in any path you need to follow, no matter how crazy it is.
"And lastly, I promise that forever will make sense."
They also succeeded in giving their guests a wedding party they will never forget.
The bridesmaids surprised the bride with a dance number.
The Kapuso actress' caption for this: "The groomsmen throwing me in the air."
4. TEAM EFFORT
On September 11, the rustic wedding of Isabelle Daza and her French fiancé Adrien Semblat took place at the Church of San Francesco in Castello di Gargonza, a 13th century castle village in Tuscany, Italy.
Everything about the wedding was lovely, including Vania Romoff's mismatched floral outfits of her bridesmaids.
The priceless moment: "My mismatched bridesmaids hard at work, creating a DIY cord since my sister couldn't find it at the church."
The bride also "forced" her friends to be the "choir."
Raymond Gutierrez and Nix Alanon came up with an improvised welcome banner.
Isabelle also gave a shout-out to her sister Ava for stitching her hangover kits, and all her friends who painted the red cross.
5. LABOR OF LOVE
On September 15, Cristalle Belo Henares became Mrs. Justin Pitt at Villa Erba in Lake Como, Italy.
The invitation, which was by far the classiest on our list, was described by Cristalle as “packing invites.”
The paper suitcase contained some travel essentials, "a pre-departure gift" from the bride and groom, who personally sealed them.
Georgina gasped upon seeing the tablescape, which was Cristalle’s "dream table setting!”
The imperial table was adorned with crystal candelabras and romantic blooms.
Everything looked pricey, but thy were all Justin's work and "forward thinking and vision."
By the way, the chair back covers were $3.00 each.
6. SYLVAN WONDERLAND
On November 25, Rufa Mae Quinto's fairy tale came true at the Blue Leaf Cosmopolitan in Libis, Quezon City.
The way Teddy Manuel transformed the venue took our breath away.
The aisle had "ceiling-to-floor series of foliage arches."
Meanwhile, the reception area was bedecked in gold, peach, and white.
The tablescape had three kinds of flowers: Ecuadorian roses, tulips, and amaryllis.
But this swan was the scene stealer.
7. THE "SUPER RELATE AKO" WEDDING FILM
On December 1, Karel Marquez and Sean Farinas got married at the Santuario de San Antonio Church in Forbes Park, Makati.
They had five prenup shoots, one of which became viral.
Have you seen their pre-wedding film produced by Treehouse Story?
Karel told PEP it only took them one whole night to conceptualize it, and stitch together the couple’s love story into a three-minute spectacle.
The former MYX VJ revealed she cried after watching the video.
Same here, Karel.
8. THE GIFT
Karel's "thoughtful wedding gift" to her groom deserved its own spot.
It was a "second-hand BMW," and a product of her "hard work."
9. TEARS AT THE ALTAR
This moment us cry: Kaye's dad Noel Abad crying before he turned over his daughter.
Jake was also seen hugging his parents in law.
Their handshake was also hard to miss.
It was a cool gesture and a light moment showing not just their love for each other but their deep friendship.
The sweet gesture was caught on video by one of their guests.
10. THE SURPRISING GLOW
Ate Glow's wedding to her British fiance at the Chelsea Registry Office, London, United Kingdom, last July 2, was a proof that, indeed, #LoveWins.
Which moment tops your list?
