On International Women’s Day, KC Concepcion got emotional as she paid tribute to her childhood nanny, Nanay Lina.

The Kapamilya star brought Nanay Lina to her newest endorsement’s gala, which was held at Shangri-La The Fort last night, March 8.

Nanay Lina—who initially thought she would just stay on the sidelines—was surprised when she was suddenly called to come up on stage.

KC proudly introduced Nanay Lina as her “guiding light” especially when the former’s mom, Sharon Cuneta, was “busy working.”

She elaborated, “My mother entrusted me to her growing up.

“And she writes me handwritten cards every month or every time she sees me.

“I don’t see us honoring our household help—the ones that have devoted their lives to us.”

In between KC’s speech, she jokingly asked Nanay Lina, “Kumusta yung BF mo, Nay? How’s your love life?”

Then KC went on to say that her childhood nanny remains to be part of their household help to this day.

“She never married anymore. She considers all of us her children,” said KC, referring to her half-siblings Frankie and Miel as well as their adoptive brother Miguel.

The 31-year-old actress/singer added: “A lot of us can relate to this situation. We all have our Nanay Linas in our lives.

“So I wanted to really put the spotlight on her. Thank you so much for all your love and devotion… for your unconditional love and service.”
