Jodi Sta. Maria on son Thirdy: "His determination to succeed, his faith in God and his willingness to learn are what I'm truly proud of. Congratulations, my love."

Thirdy Lacson made his parents proud as he finished his sixth grade with "third honors certificate."

According to the certificate posted on Instagram by his mom Jodi Sta. Maria, Thirdy's average grade was "90 or higher with no grade below 85 in any subject and at least B in conduct."

She beamed, "Sharing with all of you my joy today. It's not about Thirdy getting high grades, but it's more of how he did it.

"He started his basketball varsity training this last semester. Instead of distracting him, it motivated him even more to do better in his academics.

"His determination to succeed, his faith in God and his willingness to learn are what I'm truly proud of. Congratulations, my love."

Jodi is her son with Pampi Lacson.

Meanwhile, Thirdy's grandpa, Senator Panfilo Lacson, who usually tweets about politically-related issues broke his tradition on March 30.

Posting photos of Thirdy's certificate and letter of commendation from his school for returning a cellphone, the senator described him "bright and honest" not to mention "very generous to others."

The senator also tweeted, "Makes me proud. Easily, my favorite apo."

After Thirdy's Moving Up Day on April 1, Thirdy's mom and dad, together with his dad's partner, Iwa Moto, and half-sister Mimi, had a celebration.

On Instagram, Pampi wrote, "A good life is a collection of happy moments."
