Still ongoing in Davao City is a giant celebration for little children.
Held every 25th of April, it actually is the birthday of Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy, the founder and leader of the Philippine-based Restorationist church, the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.
Instead of a traditional party, he treats poor kids to a day of fun and "make them experience what the rich kids experience."
Now known as the ACQ International Children's Day (formerly the National Children's Day), Pastor Quiboloy's birthday tradition has been going on for 12 years now.
Today, he turns 67.
This 2017, there are two batches of parade and performances at the KJC Compound in Sasa, Davao.
The first was held earlier, before 12 n.n., while the rerun was before 6 p.m.
Aside from the 11 elementary school students who participated, there were floats, dancers, and skaters.
Also present were characters from Transformers, Star Wars, Power Rangers, to name a few.
Winnie the Pooh and Disney Princesses were also present.
In short, the peg was Disneyland Parade with some performers coming from Ukraine.
One of the most eye-catching details was his huge birthday cake, which can actually be an entry to the Guinness World Records.
But Pastor Quiboloy doesn't want that kind of publicity, he said. The cake was for the children.
By the way, he received a lot of birthday cakes, one of them came from President Rodrigo Duterte.
