Cosmo Girls and Boys gathered for a '90s-themed party to celebrate Cosmopolitan Philippines' 20th anniversary on Friday night, May 19.
From grunge to colorful/casual chic-inspired OOTDs, celebrities and fashionistas dressed up with their squad for a night of throwback music and unlimited drinks at Black Market in Makati City.
"1997 was the year it all began for Cosmopolitan Philippines, so we thought it would be fitting to pay tribute to that iconic year through a ‘90s-themed party," said Cosmo PH's Editor-in-Chief Marla Miniano.
"We gave it a more modern twist by calling it a 'Squad Night' and holding the event at a venue our millennial readers already love to hang out in."
Marla (middle), along with Summit Media's Editorial Director and former Cosmo PH Editor-in-Chief Myrza Sison (right) and Cosmo.ph's Editor-in-Chief Jill Gatcheco (left), led the toast to officially kick-off magazine's 20th anniversary party.
Cosmo PH's first-ever Pinay cover girl Donita Rose was present to celebrate the lifestyle magazine's latest milestone.
In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), the former MTV Asia VJ recalled the first time she was tapped to be the magazine's cover star.
The 42-year-old TV host narrated, "I'm so elated... when they invited me to be the cover of Cosmo 20 years ago, I was so busy. I was based in Singapore then.
"And so many things were happening at once. And of course, I was elated but I didn't realize how big it was for me, until I got invited on the 20th year.
"I'm like, 'Oh my God, it's been 20 years!' That's when I started working out and I realized I got to get back in shape again and look better than I did 20 years ago."
When asked to describe what a Cosmo Girl is, Donita answered, "A Cosmo Girl is confident, assertive, and fun.
"She knows what she wants in life, and doesn't let anyone get in her way.
"But she also does it with a smile in her face, and does everything with a smile on her face."
