Diana Zubiri and Andy Smith's baby girl Aliyah Rose turns one on August 14.


When all 200 guests you invited to your baby's birthday party came, and all the items listed under your baby registry were purchased, you have a beautiful problem.

Diana Zubiri and husband Andy Smith were both ecstatic about the turnout for the party of their daughter Aliyah Rose.

"Hindi namin in-expect," the actress told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) with a smile.

"Hindi kasi nag-a-RSVP karamihan sa atin kaya nagulat kami na lahat dumating."

Andy added, "I was actually a bit worried because we asked them to come at 3 p.m., most of them arrived at 4 p.m."

Baby Aliyah's star-studded guest list included: (L-R) Isabel Oli, John Prats, and Baby Feather; Iza Calzado, Camille Prats; Rona and Eric Tai; Karylle and Yael Yuzon (right).


Michael V (left), who got to work with Diana in Bubble Gang, came with wife Carol and their kids (not in photo).


Congressman Alfred Vargas with wife Yasmine and their daughters. The congressman was a former screen partner of Diana.

The party was held at The Blue Leaf Cosmopolitan in Libis, Quezon City last August 13, the day before baby Aliyah's actual birthday.

When asked about the party theme Bananas in Pajamas, Andi related, "We showed her several pictures, and got the best reaction from her when she saw the twin bananas."

The preparations took them five months.

"Matagal din," said Diana.

"Marami kasing mga detalye na kailangan talagang busisiin. Pero yun, from time time, meetings, ganun."

What's the most important thing they would want to teach their daughter?

"To become good. Basically, to become a good girl," Andy replied.

To which Diana quipped, laughing, "Sana matulad siya sa Daddy niya, ako kasi maldita ako."
