First-time parents Aljur Abrenica and Kylie Padilla, along with their baby boy Alas Joaquin, share a slice of their home life in the November 2017 issue of YES! magazine.
When Aljur would come home from tapings at about three in the morning, he’d usually find Baby Alas awake, and they would then spend some bonding time together.
“So, laro, laro kami,” he said.
“’Tapos, pagtulog ko, gising na si Kylie ng seven. Papaarawan na niya.”
Kylie concurred, “So pag-alis niya, tulog kami ni Alas. ’Tapos, the whole day will pass.
“Whole day ko siyang inaalagaan.
“Pag-uwi ni Aljur, pakakainin ko lang si Alas, and then hahayaan ko na silang mag-bonding. Matutulog na ako.”
The couple described their panganay as “mabait na bata.”
Aljur pointed out, "Hindi siya maselan na bata."
“Iiyak lang ’yan pag gutom na or hindi na siya kumportable sa diaper.”
Kylie said of Baby Alas, “Sa ngayon, I can say that he has me in his hand."
“Alam mo ’yong saying na ’yon—yung ‘beck and call?’ Basta tumawag siya, pupunta ako."
Baby Alas, who was born at exactly 10:31 p.m. on August 4, 2017, has brought his parents closer to each other.
“Nag-improve ang relationship namin, ’yong partnership namin,” Aljur said.
Kylie explained, “I think both of us matured a great deal with having a kid, kasi the things, the old things we would fight about, wala na talaga.”
Aljur and Kylie shared many more stories in the magazine—from the time they first fell in love with each other to their breakup, reconciliation, engagement, and finding out Kylie was pregnant.
Kylie also recalled her birthing experience, and Aljur recounted the moment he heard their newborn’s voice over the telephone because he was out working on the day Baby Alas arrived.
