Gladys Reyes and Christopher Roxas’s love story is definitely one for the books.
Today, January 23, the childhood sweethearts celebrate their “25 years of togetherness."
Gladys and Christopher became a couple in 1993 on the set of the origianal Mara Clara.
Gladys was then 14, while Christopher was 12.
They were together for 11 years as boyfriend and girlfriend, only experiencing a two-month breakup on their 8th year.
During those two months, it was Christopher who was quick to realize that his life would never be the same without Gladys.
He told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in a previous interview, “Hindi pala puro saya lang [ang buhay]. Kailangan mo talaga ng kasama, e.”
From then on, the former actor has worked harder to become a better man for Gladys.
He flew to Los Angeles, California, and worked several jobs to earn money for the future.
Then, on their 11th year as a couple, Christopher returned home and proposed marriage to Gladys.
On January 23, 2004, the couple tied the knot at the Iglesia ni Cristo Central Temple in Tandang Sora, Quezon City.
“ANSWERED PRAYER.” Gladys and Christopher will be celebrating their 25th anniversary as a couple with their four children today, at Taal Vista Hotel in Tagaytay City.
On the eve of their anniversary, the husband and wife marked their milestone with a scrumptious dinner at Veranda, the hotel’s buffet restaurant.
Gladys posted a photo of them being serenaded by a trio of string musicians.
In her caption, the actress/host quoted a stanza from the APO Hiking Society song, “Panalangin."
It read: “Panalangin ko sa habang buhay...
“Makapiling ka...
“Makasama ka...
“Yan ang panalangin ko.”
In her next Instagram post, Gladys wrote a short but sweet message for Christopher: “Happy 25 years of togetherness to my answered prayer, my bebe @christopherroxas!”
DOUBLE CELEBRATION. Aside from celebrating “25 years of togetherness,” Gladys and Christopher's firstborn, Gian-Christophe is also turning 12 today.
Gladys's message to her son: “Happy 12th birthday to my vlogger, my son, Gian-Christophe @christophe_sommereux!
“Fell in love with you the first time I laid my eyes on you when you were born.”
